BF2S Forums Shit FPS.. again..

You need to narrow down the cause of the problem...

First is it bad FPS, or is it lag?
Use the following console command to check your FPS

renderer.drawFPS 1

This will display your FPS in the top left corner.
As long as this number is above 30, you should not get GPU slow down during normal play.
If it is below 30 then you need to check two things:
1. the GPU is not over heating, do this using the Nvidia control panel, get the temp reading up, play BF2, then after 10 mins ALT + Tab back to your desktop and check the temp under load. If the temp is higher than it should be then you need to make sure that GPU fan, and other case fans are working and not clogged up with dust etc.
2. check your video drivers, the latest Nvidia drivers are 91.31 and can be found here,

I have not read anything in the forums to say people have had issues with these drivers, but you could try an older version of the drivers just in case.


If you are getting 30+ FPS but are still getting lag, then you can test a few other things,
Open task manager and then start playing BF2, is your CPU maxing out?
Is the CPU getting too hot?
Are you running any other internet based apps? P2P or file sharing apps will cause your PC and BF2 a load of headaches.
