i was following the advice on these forums on how to fix a problem.

and i made a huge mistake!

i replaced my shaders_client.zip file for the normal bf2 with the shaders_client.zip file from the sf xpack!

well, i found a shaders_client.zip file on the net, but it seems someone tweaked it to where all the buildings and vegetations show up black...

that is annoying so i am asking for a kind soul to upload or send me a copy of their shaders_client.zip file located in battlefield 2/mods/bf2 folder!

karma now and i'll be your karma giver for life if i can just get a shaders_client.zip file that will work!!!

well, in theory, there should be a file with the correct shaders on your BF2 disc, I dare say. Then again, if they changed anything in those shaders with one of the patches, you are probably screwed.
I'll move this to BF2:Help. If no one there can offer additional advice, your only option could be to re-install.

Good Luck. I suggest you use the SEARCH button to find topics which deal with this issue.

i was hoping for help here, because i started playing over a year ago and since then i have misplaced the 3 discs i don't use, along with my cd case and key.

oh well.

have you tired to remove the cache files in the my docs/bf2 folder? It would then also force it to redo the optimize shaders thing it does the first time you loading a map again which may fix it

If you change your Graphics settings that should force BF2 to write new shaders shouldn't it?

Yes but it won't give him the client for the shaders.

You need to reinstall BF2....of course as I remember you lost your CDs...

Lol, he wants to cheat, why else would some one "change their shaders"?

Well, based upon his original post, my guess is that he was trying to fix a very common problem with BF2 (overcoming a start-up error message).  And he was probably attempting to follow advice such as I was giving here.

Yes but that link you gave doesn't help his problem...

1. He can't unpack Shaders_client.zip because if you read the first post he miss that file.

2. He can't do that because in another thread he said, he lost his orignial CDs somewhere. So no reinstall either.

3. The shader folder in Documents/BF2/mods is NOT the Shader_client.zip. That file is in Program Files/EA games.

You are not reading things correctly here ... responding to your points ....

1.   I'm not trying to help his problem of a missing file with my post ... I was explaining to MECtallica that he isn't attempting to cheat.
2.   You don't need your original CD's to do the suggestion in the link ... again, my post was directed at MECtallica ...
3.   That's correct ... I never said that it was in the Documents folder, rather it is in the Battlefield 2 application folder.
