OK, I have seen countless threads where people are asking what unlock they should get, people getting flamed for using unlocks, etc. In this thread I would like to find what the BF2S community thinks about unlocks and whether they use them or not.
I'll start. I voted NO and there are two reasons. The first reason is I am competitive in TWL and CAL where unlocks aren't allowed so it's better practice not to use them in pub servers. The second reason is that I realized that I'm actually better with the stock guns than the unlocks. I've played without unlocks for so long that it would just be weird to go back to using unlocks. How do you guys feel about it?

Most people arn't in TWL or CAL so they don't really care about this, you if you bought something and can use something new that other people will try them first before judge them. I will use them when ever I can.

Of course i do,if someone here want's to call me a "noob" or whatever the cool term is then more power to them.

I had to play single player for a while were there is no unlocks,now i find them boring and use unlocks most of the time.

this thread is not for flaming people who use/dont use unlocks. it's your choice what you do in the game and nobody should disagree with you. i just want to see how everyone on here feels about them.

Been a Sniper for PLA or MEC, i find the Auto Sniper rifles just dont have the distance that the Bolt action ones have and cant stand upto the M24 SWS so i use the M95, mmmm

im not any kind of sniper but ive tried using the m95 and i cant hit shit with it, i prefer the m24 when i do snipe (only when MEC is down to gatehouse on karkand)

Why wouldn't anybody use the unlocks. They are better weapons. Thats why you have to earn them. I think the noobs are the ones that have them and don't use them. Flame on.

I know i just hate it when people give other shit.

Oh and medics get to heal there self,sniper's sit a mile away from the action.Assault,Support and anti tank have Armour.Engineers stay in tanks alot.Spec ops sneak around unnoticed.

Every class is a pussy then aren't they,well unlock haters?

thats an OPINION, not a fact. in my OPINION, the stock guns are much better. also, read the first post on the page for some more insight to why i do not use unlocks.

I like some unlocks and some stock wpns...just depends on the Army and the character type. For instance, as USMC med, I will use the L85A1 instead of the M16 (full auto feature and accuracy)...but as MEC med, I will go with the AK101 over the L85...just a better close quarters and spray/pray gun.

Well not really, the AK101/47 do the job more then fine. If i go engineer i usually go with the MP7 to give a little range. When anti-tank, the stock SMG's are fine but sometimes i'll use the P90 when MEC becuase i just hate their SMG.

I'll use the G3 when USMC if i get annoyed at the M16's super-weakness (they need to give that thing 32 damage like the G36E, i mean the other assault rifles have friggin 37/38 damage, even the F2000 has kinda low damage, i mean yeah it's the same as the L85, but it's a rifle for a frontline troop so it should be more powerful than one for a medic).

If i'm getting super-owned i'll break out the G36E to fix up my KDR and get some stupidly easy points on the side (that thing is so easy to use, that i only use it in emergency's, my rifle KDR would be so much higher if i was another medic whore, i'm actually surprised that most medic whores have low assault rifle kdr's)

So yeah, i guess i do use unlocks. Only as an alternative not becuase "zomg teh weapon pwnzeresmerises" if i'm doing bad with a particular weapon in that round. Guess i'm 50/50

do me a favor nex time and give the m16 a go. when i first started the game i hated the m16 with a passion but after getting a little used to it it's 1 to 2 bursts and dead everytime. also the m16 on single shot is incredibly accurate and deadly to targets at longer range. i promise you that if you play with the m16 for a few days you will never want to use that l85 again. you will realize how much less accurate it is than you think.

I don't understand why clans and the like insist on using stock weapons; they're not always evenly matched. To me it would be far more even to make all players use, say, first-tier unlocks. Then all players on both teams are using the exact same weapons.

It's good practice for competition play.

I myself mix it up. Sometimes I'll go with my beautiful L85, other times I pack heavy and take the AK-101. In Euro Force I always use the FAMAS and the Benelli. I use the Jackhammer as MEC, but pump shotties as PLA and USMC. I use the L96 and M95. G36C and M4.

Of course, you can never go wrong with the AK-47.

I was talking about competition play. I would think they'd be interested in maintaining as even a playing field as possible. The stock weapons don't always offer that.

I have unlocked several weapons on my current account - and use none of the them. 101 and M16 work fine for me.

Same goes for SF, where the G36E and AK47 work fine as well.

Most competetions and clan matches are held on unranked servers which don't an an option for using unlocks as of now.
