How many of you have tried using this program? I've been using it today for the first time and put the quality as low as it can go at 25fps but I still lag out completely once I start recording. Is there any way to fix this at all?

I have the same problem, so therefore I just dont use it.  Sorry ecko, not everyone can just go build a new pc specfically to be abel to run fraps as they play.

Really ecko? what's your comp's specs, just out of curiosity. And I'm sorry but I figured my PC would be able to run this program with ease as it's a P4 3.2 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, and Radeon x700. I can play whatever I want on highest graphics without any lag, I didn't know one program like fraps could just slow down my computer like that...

Set it to film only half screen this will reduce lag and try closing all the background apps and lowing your gfx settings, it relies on RAM and bf2 use up alot of ram 1g might not be enough for fraps.

let me know

I own the full version, and here's what I have seen: the reason it is lagging so much is this: Fraps has to write all of that data to your hard drive and ram, but while it's doing that, bf2 is reading from the HDD and ram... I have my bf2 installed on my raptor, and Fraps set to record to my other drive. That way, bf2 and Fraps are using totally different buses. Also, upgrading to 2 gigs of ram would not hurt at all... The GFX card doesn't have too much to do with the recording, as far as I'm concerned, btw. The CPU has a good bit, though, but the p4 should be able to handle it. Basically, your choke points are: your HDD, and: Your Ram. Set Fraps to record to a diff. HDD, if you have one. For the RAM, 2 gigs isn't all THAT expensive anymore... look into it as your next upgrade. If you would be choosing between the ram and the HDD, I'd get the ram, just in case the question pops up. Hope this helps!

Alright, I did everything nuke said but I also stopped recording sound and that was a big boost. For anybody still having this problem put the fps on 25, screen on half-size and turn off sound and you don't even notice the difference.
