I think if you get the losing theme, you've lost the round already.. before you're actually on the team.. not sure though :S

Meaning if I would play 70% ofd the match as MEC and change to USMC the last couple of minutes.
I'd get get a lose on my stats?

this wont work for your stats, it is based on how long youve played for a team...

also, if you join a server for x amount of time, then leave you will get a recorded loss if the team you were on losses (not sure if the same happens for a win, could only confirm the loss)

Personally, I find it of poor ethics to team hop at the last second just to be on the winning team. I've had my deal of frustration being on the losing team when I completely kicked ass but my team sucked royal, but I've only actually switched teams to end up on the winning team three times in my BF2 career. The only other time I switch teams is to get on the same team with my friends when we're playing online together.

I can understand every decent player's frustrations though. Often I can get the gold star on the server and completely dominate the other team in combat, but my team is dropping like flies and letting bases slip through their fingers that it doesn't matter and the team still loses. I'd say that more than a third of my gold, silver, and bronze stars were received when I was on the losing team. It doesn't matter if you have one or two star players on your team, if you have an inexperienced team of idiots you'll still lose. However, one good functioning squad working cooperatively with the commander can often make all the difference. Whenever my friends and I play together online, if there are at least three of us together in a squad, chances are that we will be on the winning team 90% of the time. One example comes to mind. Me and 2 of my friends joined a game in Mashtur over half-way through the round after every base but one was lost. Our team lost by 138. Next round we won by 130 and there were no player swaps, disconnects, or players added to the server during this round. This just goes to show what an organized squad can do.

I don't think that I would ever attempt to try your team-swapping technique. I think on some occasions I could feel justified about it, but I probably still wouldn't do it. Personally, I think it's a bad idea. However, I think what might fix the solution is that if you are on the losing team and you still managed to get a gold, silver, or bronze star for the round that the loss shouldn't count against you. In this case, the player wouldn't receive a loss for the round but they also wouldn't receive a win either. I know this probably will never happen, but I think something along these lines would reward those players who did everything they could to achieve victory, but still lost as a result of their team's incompetence.

Another suggestion if your team is consistently losing despite your best efforts:

Rather than team hop at the end of the round, why not simply disconnect from the server and find another server to play on where the teams are more evenly balanced. This is a simple solution, and the one I usually resort to if I'm getting overly annoyed by the incompetency of my team.

so if I play the whole match on the winning team and at the last 10 minutes I get switched by autobalance to the other team and lose, will I get a win in my stats?
