It is becoming apparent that Roy Keane is going to become Sunderland A.F.C.'s new manager. I'm a Sunderland fan (ohhh the pain) and wondered what you football (or soccer fans for those over the pond) thought of the appointment? Sunderland have hit an all time low, do you think Keano can do the job??

As a Roy Keane fan I'm baffled by to the move to Sunderland. Sure I understand the oppurtunity is to good to turn down but working with Niall Quinn is just hard to believe. Sunderland fans are in for good times, regardless if he turns out to be the next Brian Clough or Alex Fergunson he still will have enough about him to get the team back into the premiership. He will sort out the wasters, which ye have a lot of and he will attracted a better quailty of player to the team. A lot of managers send good players out for toughening up and who better than Roy Keane when it comes to that. And Roy will put a lot of bums on seats and great t shirt sales just by his presence on the touch line. Sunderland are lucky they have got who for a number of years was arguably the most effective midfielder in the world.
Now im off to shoot some bad guys...

Buckles, Keano is a legend. The Man Utd fans were singing his name at Charlton midweek and he left them ages ago now. In my book that makes you a legend. He has also won the Champs League and 9 Prem Titles I think and Captained argubly the most successful team in Britian. << full stop. By the time you finish telling the grandkids about all his achivements it'll be impossible for them to be scared. However, he was an animal, no doubing that. You could say for every prem title lies a red card, you divide the 500+ (i think) games for Man Utd by 9 and it isnt a bad ratio, it isnt a good thing either kiddies.

I hope he does well for Sunderland, for him though not Sunderland. I don't have anything agaisnt Sunderland other than they seem to be one of those clubs that think they "deserve" the prem due to being a big club. Rubbish, Watford are there because they deserve to be because they won it on merit. I have noticed a lot of Sunderland fans ringing 606 over the years moaning bout Mcarthy this, Mcarthy that, then all of a sudden praising him and kissing his ass, much like West Ham/Alan Pardew. I suppose we are all fickle. Be grateful your not Newcastle though eh? 40 years, fuck all. Just like England, lots of fans, lots of let downs.

I hope Sunderland turn it around but stay behind CARDIFF CITY.

Fair play to you Geordies, you do like your football. Jokingly, is it true that the fans who recieve "benefits" recieve a ticket rather than money to spend on food etc?
