I think theyre pretty sneaky, just look at the armor badge:
First they make you comfortable, 10 minutes in armor is ok for your basic armor badge. Then, while youre in a false sense of security, they ask you to spend half your life (okay, its just 100 hours, but still..) in armor for VETERAN. You would be 2/3 way expert if it was a heli..
Nearing the end of your life you will maybe have spent 400 hours in tanks.
I havent seen many people play over 1500 hours, but imagine 400 of those would have been in armor, thats more than 1/4 of the most possible time you could spend on bf2! (its about 8 hours a day, 6 months straight)
