Well I think BF2142 is too much sci-fi in it like plasma weapons and crap so i'm definetely not gonna buy it, but BF2 will probably eventually die out.
Lets look at it this way:
BF1942 Didn't die when BFV came out (heh, yep im comparing 2142 to BFV)
BF1942 hasn't died yet. I know for a fact that gamers till play it regularly, expecially mods like Forgotten Hope.
Heck, I think there are still some MoH games still playing, and i played that before 1942.
BF2 has only just begun. Mods are only starting to get released, so this game has got a lot of potential and a long way to go before it even thinks of dieing.
Mods like FH and POE will keep BF2 living for a couple years to come.
