Israel is not the only democratic country, Iran is also democratic. Its a diferent democacry, but does everyone have to be like the US? Israel sure ain't. Having said that, since when does the US give a shit whether or not a country is democratic? US is allied to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, the first is a very oppresive monarchy causing hardship and denying rights to thousands of beduins. The second a very harsh military dictatorship, who overthrew a totally democratic regime! Some real champions of democracy and freedom, these US allies...fadedsteve wrote:
I agree with you when you say that Israel is barely a democracy, they do some shaddy shit!! However, they are THE ONLY "democracy" in the region. With that said, they are also our allies, and are a partner on the fight against terrorism.
You do know that by blaming the UN you are just about blaming Europe and the US. They were the ones who pushed this plan through the UN, and quite easily since at that time many arab nations still weren't UN members.fadedsteve wrote:
The UN caused the problems we have in the middle east, if they created a Palestinian state ALONG WITH the state of Israel, we probably wouldnt have todays problems.
The UN is only as good as the nations in it, specialy the ones that LEAD it. If Brazil and all of Latin America stood up in the UN to try and do something, I doubt it would go very far. But if the US, the single most powerful nation in the world and the biggest contributor to the UN, stood and up and decided to put a stop to this maybe something would happen. But what does the Bush adminsitration do? Kiss Israel's ass and compliment them on a job well done f**ing things up even more...fadedsteve wrote:
P.S. THE UN IS AN EMPTY SUIT. . . . . NUFF SAID! Absolute worthless organization, and behind the times!! More people have died at the lack of UN action around the world, than both the Iraq wars COMBINED!!!!!! UN should be ASHAMED of themselves!
