Is it possible to use the lan game and allow people in on port 16567 (from the net), or does the bf2 game only allow lan addresses?

In which case am I stuck with using the dedicated server s/w?

Myself and a few friends are wanting to experiment in POE 2, but whenever we join some empty server it always fills up pretty quickly after we join. This way we can create our own server just to play around on.

I suspect nobody will get great pings etc because i'll host it on the same machine i play it on. It's just something to experiment with.

So, can I use the create a lan game and forward port 16567 to my machine allowing people from the net to connect or will I have to create a dedicated server. (of which i'm downloading now)

You could use a VPN (virtual private network), which means Lan over the internet.
Search in google for HAMACHI, this is a program so you can play lan games by internet. Create a local on your machine, let others join it. Think that's the easiest solution.

I setup the dedicated server, however i've been getting disconnections.

Either my net connection is acting up or too many people and taking up too much bandwidth and the connection is being dropped.
