BF2S Forums Crashes and CTD

It seems to be more of a problem on some machines than others, because may people have said they can barely play but I can usually play a minimum of an hour before I crash. I don't think there is really any "fix", but try looking in the beta forums.

So THAT's how they will make the ranks take longer to achieve.... think about it: the ranks are close together now, no? They make you crash to desktop whenever you have a score that will get you too much closer to the next rank than they want you to be :p

So far i have got a grand total of 2 kills because i get a ctd about 2 minutes into the game, i will try some other servers, i may have been a tad unlucky, i will see.

lol, crap so when im finished downloading, im going to have to use another nick than the one i signed up with?

I usually crash to desktop upon mapchange / reload of map. Funny, isn't it ? in BF2, we crash at the beginning of the round, in BF2142 it's at the end...

I wonder what the programmers did to fuck the code up so utterly. I have played numerous FPS over the last years, including EA products from the Battlefield series ( 1942 and Vietnam ), and BF2 since 1.3 and BF2142 are really the only games where I get CTD's.

oh and, btw, templar, you reserve the name for the final BF2142 game, not the beta. Those two run separately, and all beta accounts will be wiped when the game goes gold, as far as I know.

Really 2142 at is worst.

Close beta was a good game, not really stable but still playable ...
now in (open) its crash over crash and they removed all the cool feature like jump pod travelling.
I wonder how they screwed up so bad !

do you guys think its going to be worth it when they fix everything?  I haven't played the beta yet, but everywhere i read it seems like they're having problems with it, and alot of people say the gameplay isnt so good, what do you guys think?
