Trump released his economic plan today. More tax cuts, destroy the EPA, get rid of estate taxes.

Typical strongman using populist rhetoric to enrich himself and cronies.
His plan would cut my taxes. Clinton's would raise mine. Who should I vote for?
If you think taxes are the only thing that matters probably Trump. But that would make you as bad as a hoodrat welfare case only voting for Clinton to expand their food stamps.
Because I want less of my money going to pay for things I don't believe in? Ok.

You know who had it good? Serfs. They owed their lord two or three days of labor a year. Sure, they were bound to the land and stuff, but I currently work over two days every week to pay my tax bill and, if I fail to pay my property taxes they toss me off my land and impoverish me, so it ain't all that different. Fuck taxes.

There are 20 things a president is a part of that are as important or more important than your tax rate. You are being selfish and stupid if that is the most important thing determining your vote.

Go cry somewhere else about your property tax bill. You bought a house in suburban New York. No one put a gun to your head and made you stay in New York.

When you have any sort of responsibility, like a looming $15,000/yr cost for pre-school, lemme know. You don't care about taxes because you have no bills. I paid $69,000 in taxes between medicare, social security, income, property and sales taxes. I got a whole lot of nothing for that money.

It doesn't take a high tax rate to make the country safe. You ever been to DC? Do you know how much money passes through the hands of the contractors, the lobbyists, the and the lawyers hands? There is an absurd amount of naked corruption in this country. You know how much a contractor marks up their services when they have a government contract vs a private one? About 300%. So many people make a living ripping off the American taxpayer it makes me sick. You accuse me of being selfish with my money, well, shouldn't I be? It's mine. I earned it with my own labor. I put in the work, and the overtime, and the thousands of hours I needed to gain the knowledge I possess. Why should I hand over my time freely to a corrupt government?

I would've had about $50k in student loan debt if I had gone straight through. It would already have been paid off years ago.

Instead, I took a job that paid less than minimum wage, came with a strong chance of death and cost me nearly 5 years in earnings potential in my career. I'd say the taxpayer made a nice profit off of me.

not if you're a non-resident alien.

With estate taxes come gift taxes.

Why should there ever be a tax on gifts given to friends or family? People already paid taxes on the earnings they made yet the government wants to impose another tax whenever wealth is transferred. gg.
Because it opens up so many loopholes.

wow you recycle the worst sort of horse shit. "2 or 3 days a year". you moron. actually the 'rent' portion of their land took about 2-3 months (that's a colossally misremembered factoid there jay). and after that they still had to work for the majority of the year because they had no food supply chain, no services, no education, no healthcare, basically nothing that incurred a public cost or involved special knowledge or assistance from a third party. they lived brutal and circumscribed lives made only of work and worship (aka 'holiday').

but yeah jay. they didn't pay taxes. serfs had it great!

you are such a bottom-rate thinker it's unbelievable.

another dumb shit with a few textbooks under his arm and a few undergraduate seminar ideas. cybargs you are missing the whole point of the above exchange. Macbeth isn't saying the government should have free license to tax everything and cause economic mayhem and cause problems with liquidity. thanks for waving your otiose economics knowledge in this thread.

the point is that jay is your TYPICAL, bog standard, small-minded chump. he took tax money freely and depended on public subsidy when he most needed it; now he's accumulated and acquired a little himself, his reading list has changed, he's made the excuses and rationalised his behaviour to himself with faux-noble, soi disant bullshit, and now he's rallying against 'why should i give up the fruits of my labour hurr durr'. this is what every selfish bastard starts to say when they near 40 and start shitting out little brats. jay is anxious. he wants to send his kids to private school and to leap up the ladder into the respectable upper-middle class. in fact, he's greedy for it. he wants to cheat. he doesn't want to pay back into the system that helped him immensely when he was a lost little kid from a blue-collar neighbourhood with no father to put him through private school.

this is a depressing picture that is as old as taxation itself. dress up his time spent mooching in the military as 'public service' and then use it as a false form of credential to basically discredit the very idea of public service. a republic made up of this sort of 'citizen' is venal and pathetic.

you realise we have no gift and estate taxes in aus and everything is a-ok.

When you transfer car title, did you forget it goes through RMS and any car that's extremely undervalued gets audited. state govs don't like it when people underpay stamp duty. Oh and you don't pay CGT or GST on private car sales so go figure.

those transactions are constructive taxes either way. you can't superwog it and get your boss to pay half into your account and other half to your dad.
