i don't want to use a windows, but unfortunatly i can't play bf2 without it. Apple realizes that some people have to use apps that are not universal(like auto cad, .net, etc) so why not allow them to do both on one machine instead of forcing  them to purchase to different machines.
well thats one point but.

Macs are good, but too fasionable and expensive. (iPod anyone?) Yes they are good, but compatability for me is an issue. Everyone had windows, so if I get a mac then I can't borrow/lend games and stuff.

Windows I find easier, though Macs are deffinately better. But not for games, and the only reason we're here because we are gamers!

Well damn, they took over 8 years to re-create something that was already invented. By the time MS released 3.11, Mac OS was already up to version 7.

So kthxbyenow, and don't come back.

hello i'm a mac. AND I'M A PC. hey, what's that? THIS IS CALLED A VIDEO GAME, IDIOT. OF COURSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S A VIDEO GAME, ALL YOU EVER TALK ABOUT IS PHOTOSHOP, DUMBASS. a video what? A VIDEO GAME. YOU KNOW? SOMETHING THAT'S ENTERTAINING. what does that mean: entertaining?

Different markets.  Apple runs in the hardware market, whereas MS runs software on any IBM based machine.  I'd say that the only thing keeping Apple afloat right now is the ipod.  Honestly, my PC can do all of the video, photo, music no problem.  Arguing for one or the other between PC and Mac is like arguing that Chevy is better than Ford.  Same shit, different names.  It comes down to personal preference and brand loyalty.

Apple: what's a third party?
Apple is kept afloat by the iPod? Oh my. You must be teh intarnat haxpert!
Why don't you hop back to that patch-ill w32 system of yours, while I enjoy my crash free Apple.
Oh and concerning the afloat issue. What the WWDC06 keynote.

Sure your computer can do the same stuff as a Mac, that is why all the large broadcast companies work with PC's!
Ow wait, no, they don't. A Mac is build for graphics, it is graphics. It is a damn Unix system that has more eye candy and usefull features than Vista will have!

I bet you haven't even used a Mac to it's full potential.
Actually, Mac is what I have learned photo and graphics programs on.  But I still hate it.  With state funding, I'm pretty sure the college Macs I go on are pretty top of the line.  And I don't have trouble with my PC crashing.  Actually, the Macs at school are the computers that I have noticed do weird shit, not my PC at home.

You should really check your biases.  I did not bash Macs at all (except for pointing out that there is relatively little 3rd party support) and you automatically got very defensive.  Sure, I prefer PC, but I can see the advantages to both.  You are what we on the internet call a fanboy.  I bet you are one of those people who have at least 3 of those "Calvin piss on [insert brand here]" decals on your car.

PC's dont crash as much... crashing is always due to hardware being overheating

Umm expensive? Like I said before the latest macpros are cheaper than their dell counter parts. "fasionable"?? Anyways, who doesn't like a good looking computer? Beside you I guess. The latest macs can run windows xp as well, so you can lend barrow games. All though if you had read the post before you would know this.

Windows easier than a mac?? Have you used a mac for longer than five mins? Of course macs are better. I have not bench marked our new macpro at work, but I am pretty sure it is on par with most gaming rigs. Also I am here to have a good time, check out what people are talking about, and stare at cyborg's sig. Not just to talk about games.

the great things about pcs is that easier upgradebility... w/ macs... its kinda voiding warranty doesnt it?
https://cache.www.gametracker.com/server_info/203.46.105.23:21300/b_350_20_692108_381007_FFFFFF_000000.png

Nope, you can upgrade/replace your hard drives, RAM, video cards, add in or remove PCI cards and wireless cards, plus swap out the CD/DVD drives to replace them with anything else without voiding the warranty.  If you try overclocking or modifying the original hardware on the motherboard, then you'll run into voiding issues.

If you are talking about swapping motherboards and processors, the idea with a Mac is that you don't have to do that.  That is something that many PC enthusiasts fail to recognize, and obviousy their distaste about it comes from the fact that they are Enthusiasts and are not normal users.  Macs are built to be plugged in and used, not to be eternally tweaked.

Yeah, I have the liquid cooling model as a production machine at home.  It's done it's job, but I'm going to get a Mac Pro either by the year's end or next year.

Hey, Macs don't get viruses! And you use intel chips to do everything PCs can ALREADY do! Oh wait... what about that whole virsus for PCs thing... and the whole Macs can use PC hardware... crap.

Oh and the mac commercial with the "new camera" that speaks the "same language" as the Mac? HOLY SHIT A PC CAN DO THAT TOO?!?! It's almost as if the people who made the commercials intentionally didn't put that fact in to make their product look better! What is the world coming to?
Actually, you can plug-in just about every BT, USB, FW or other connected device and the Mac recognizes it.
Unlike a PC where 8 out of 10 times I need a CD with drivers. This is done because lots of manufacturers build their hardware in cooperation with Apple for example Cannon EOS > Aperture etc.. etc..
I actually have to put a CD into my CD tray (!!!) and install the regognition software using up 3 whole minutes of my precious life? Sorry, still not a selling point in my book.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting myslf a Mac. You can do some awesome graphics stuff on Macs that you just c't do on a Microsoft machine. Take my comics fo example: my PC slaughters them while I reckon a Mac would turn them into something decent.

I'd really like one of those tablet PCs... man that'd be SWEET!

I voted Microsoft purely because I have no experiance with an Apple system, only about 5 minutes playing around with ne in the store. I am only 15, so I guess that puts out of the question of getting one, but I would really like to try one and see just how much better it is.

well..from me, two features at least..

1) Ease of use (most times you can delete an unwanted programme by dragging it to the trashcan, can't do that with PC)
2) Most (not saying all) Mac users are spared virus attacks

Well Windows users would be too if it had the market share that Macs had. Few people have Macs which makes them a small target for virus makers.
