My friends are Cs 1.6/css players. Three of them bought BF2. It seemed they couldnt "handle" the complexity of the bf2 gameplay and all of its features that Cs doesnt have. In BF2 if you have to make decisions, know how to hide from "predators" (tanks, planes, etc), use features such as UAV and supply crates, orders, mines, c4, know how to read the minimap and use it at your advantage, know how to position on the field, know how to recognize noises, etc. At the end, BF2 is the most complex fps imo. I think that the only thing that require most skills in cs is aiming.
My friends failed ridiculously in bf2. They all have crappy stats, cant make decisions on the run, even after an amount of hours that should have allowed them to be good, or just decent.
Friend "A" got desinterested in gaming and now, he spends his time progamming with C++. Before bf2, he was an avid gamer.
Friend B bought bf2 this summer and sucked too. On the field it was easy to see that he was used to cs : he coulndt make decisions, hide from tanks, helos, etc, couldnt pilot them, was decent at aiming but thats it. Now he went back to cs because getting killed by something else than guns was too much for him.
Friend C bought bf2 a week ago and didnt give up for the moment. He sucks but still play the game. He doesnt have a lot of experience so we will see....
So what do you think ? is cs popular because of his simplicity ? does bf2 require more skils ? feel free to
comment.
edit : im not stating that all cs players suck in bf2. I think bushviper was a cs player before, so we have a good proof... but I still think that its hard for them to migrate from Cs to bf2, but not the opposite...
