I'm sick of seeing people claim that it takes skill to dolphin dive and bunny hop, and that the noobs are the ones that brought an end to it!  That is ridiculous!

It takes much more skill to survive by playing somewhat realistically and NOT jumping around like an idiot, when all the kids out there ARE doing it!  Now you are crying when you have to fight on equal footing.   Too bad for you- I won't notice any difference at all in my style of play.

If I'm in trouble I run or maybe zig zag while reloading - but for the most part I just face the music.  I honestly would rather just get killed than hop around like an idiot for survival.  For me, that ruins the look and feel of the game when people do that crap.

I am SOOOOO glad they are taking care of this lame behavior.

well that is one way of looking at it but i never take the game too seriously, i just found it fun to prone spam when waiting for stuff or as my clan member and i say "ground humping". i loved doing that and now they have got rid of it and NO its not for the best IMHO.

I only agree with you somewhat. Pronespamming is stupid, and litterally requires no skill (usually macro'd.)

Though when you're running around with a pump shotty, and the first shot doesnt kill the enemy, there is no way in hell im going to stay on the ground. Whatever keeps me alive is what I'm doing. I don't care if I look like a bunny or not. It's using the specific weapon to your advantage.

Those with rifles, carbines, or basically anything with decent power that isn't a shotgun has no excuse. Unless reloading. If you cannot kill a bunnyhopper during the time it takes for them to reload their rifle... then you deserve to eat the dirt for 15 seconds.

Diving is perfectly fine... you can do it in real life. You can also bunnyhop in real life. What you can't do, is pronespam. (Unless you're uberbreakdancer type)

Your first reaction with a shotgun should be to shoot the guy - NOT to dive on the ground and shoot from the ground.  The game allowed this behavior, but think about it - who in reallife would dive on the ground before clamoring with their heavy shotgun to fire at their close range opponent?!?!?  It wouldn't happen and makes the game often times look silly.  Just crouch and shoot or stand and shoot.  If you dive - like in real life, it's because you are trying to not get shot and you are diving for cover or preparing to pop off some long range shots.

Diving is fine in real life - to save your butt and get behind cover!   Bunny Hopping in a real life?  What are you talking about?  O.K., maybe on a trampoline, or maybe kids do at recess...  but how many times can you hop in the air while holding a gun, ammo, and all your equipment (combat boots, helmet, flak jacket, etc) all while getting shot at   NO - IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE.  NO SOLDIERS BUNNY HOP.   THERE SHOULD BE NO BUNNY HOPPING ALLOWED.  PERIOD.

No soldiers respawn after death.  No soldiers can repair their tanks with supply crates either.  The list goes on.......

First they remove the ability to shoot & jump at the same time (which made it pretty much impossible to destroy tanks and LAVs with C4), and now they're adding ANOTHER delay??  What's next?  No shooting while strafing?  Give me a break.

Maybe they should change the soldiers into something that suits the play styles of the kids.  Maybe we should all be giant jelly beans, or teddy bears or something - because having soldiers with guns is misleading for many people.

Uhh, he said why he doesn't become one...

Honestly, I think everybody who does it sees nothing wrong with it, but everybody else sees it as being lame. Mainly because you are relying on some type of exploit where your hitboxes become manipulated on survival. Basically meaning that you can't kill unless you manipulate your own hit boxes, proving that you cannot kill enemies unless you do dolphin dive. Which kind of makes you admit that you are in fact, not as good a player as your enemy.

I mean, I personally don't mind people who do that and I actually don't see that many people that do it anyways, but that's basically your explanation to it. I personally won't mss it.

I actually enjoy the patch. Now every time I see an enemy they would just hit the ground but nothing would happen. Leaving me and my gun pointed to their head.

In real life, you wouldn't jump around like a fricken fool when you saw an enemy. You may run (reload is nescessary) but I think most people would just freeze. I'm to sure on this, so don't quote me on it. I don't know what a soldier would do if he was all alone with no one to back him up, and he spotted and enemy aiming right at him. I know he wouldn't hop around like a fool though.

Shooting the guy is my first reaction. Except... when he's still alive (for whatever reason), I need another shell to come out of my shotgun to save my butt. Never go prone with a shotgun, that's just death. The fact that you can jump that high in the game is the way bf2 is programmed. It's not an exploit like pronespamming. Adapt and move on.

Yes... behind cover. You can also dive to the ground in real life and shoot people. Can you not?

As for bunnyhopping... I said you can, not you do. The fact is- there is no jumping stamina in bf2. You can jump as much as you want. This isn't real life. Don't blame players like me that use game mechanics to their advantage. Blame EA for not coding jump stamina. Stop complaining, learn how to aim. Once they land, put a few bullets in their chest. Done.

@ryan_14. This isn't real life. But... in real life you will use all necessary means to escape gunfire. In BF2, bunnyhopping is an effective way. End of story.

@stryyker. I don't know, I doubt that. I don't see pronespammers very often... but every one I have encountered used a macro. I know that for sure because I made a point to ask each and every one that I came across.

How about this

-All the supporters of the removal of this technique shut up, because you guys never were "better" or "worse" than pronespammers and dolphin divers

-All the opposers of the removal just adapt to the new gameplay... if you are good then it shouldn't be long before the good players are pwning the noobs and the noobs find osmething new to complain about

Yes - you CAN dive to the ground and shoot people.  But can you do it instantly and in one motion?!?!  Of course not, so why complain about not being able to do it?  If you dive to the ground why is it unreasonable to have to take a second or two to orient your gun properly?  Dive behind cover or dive and take long distance shots - that isn't unreasonable.

You say "Stop Complaining, learn how to aim" at bunny hoppers.  Actually I DID learn how to adapt and to aim and hit the pesky bunny hoppers.  I just think they look ridiculous and make the game look silly sometimes.  I kill them just fine, thanks.  My whole point with this thread was that not only does it look silly to do these tactics, but the lamers who do them need to LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME without relying on them.

Who are the ones with no skill, now that they are curbing some of this silly behavior?
