"The chopper is the most powerful vehicle in BF2 because, with a skilled enough player, it is a weapon that doesn't miss and kills anything in one shot, its in many ways, like the AWP is to CS." - BUDFORCE

Agree.

Like the AWP also, an intelligent enough player on the other team can effectively counter WITH a similar weapon + situational awareness.

Or with a different weapon, understanding the limitations of the chopper, can also be used effectively against it. I.e. AA Vehicles in strategic areas. However, the more highly skilled the pilot is, the harder it'll be to counter, tricks such as barrel rolling into their own flares, staying 300m above ground to solo tv are all examples of skilled players countering the usual techniques used against them.

Against these skilled players (once again like pro-AWP users), being skilled in a different vehicle i.e. Jets would be a strong plus, or very simply in any team game: team work and coordination. Decoy/Bait, or just covering fire. It may not take down that skilled sniper in CS, but enough pressure i.e. Flash/Smoke/Covering Fire, would make him back off, or damage him enough to hide.

I Agree 2! Choppers are the most effective Weapon with a good pilot and/ or gunner. But comparing it with the AWP isn't the same. The CS Physics engine has no bullet drop, bullet speed and the AWP even kills instantly. The TV missile too (the instant kill), but its still harder (especially after the range reducing) to kill other choppers or Jets, than a slow walking person with the rifle.

But the most powerful weapon is still the knife!

If your talkin about a gunner that will hit 10 out of 10 planes, then yeah, but when we step back into reality, no.

In the right hands, any weapon is the 'most' deadly.

Agree but it depends on the map, but generally I have spent more time being totally frustrated by a fantastic chopper pilot and gunner combination than I would like to contemplate.

If you can do it, then kudos to you cos I can't.

I disagree.

Literal meaning of 'powerful'. The helicopter does not pack more firepower than the artillery, and the normal weapons at a helicopter's disposal are outmatched by the tanks' primary firepower and the APC's secondary missile. Bearing in mind that the TV missile is only utilised by exceptional pilots or additional gunners- in which case you're talking about a 'weapon' with TWO operators, - which thus classifies it apart from other 'weapons' (as you put it yourself) in Battlefield 2.

Also, your point about accuracy with weapons is slightly confusing and misleading. Any gun in a computer game is 'accurate'- recoil is not realistic, nor is other outside elements such as jamming, overheating or fatigue. Therefore, accuracy is more of a 'point the reticule at the pixels' more than a weapon characteristic. Although EA have programmed weapon deviation and bullet 'spray'- I still feel that accuracy lies mainly in the skill of the user, and not the weapon.

And, as everyone else has said- skill is determined by player. Power and effectivity is in the hands of that player.

Ok while im not going to disagree with what you say in pricipal, let me put it this way.

Put the best tank player in a tank, vs the best chopper pilot in a chopper, who wins?

absolute agree!

a skilled pilot in communications (VOIP) with a skilled gunner can win the round alone!

I think the J-10 would be the most lethal attack tool.  The next most lethal weapon would be the barrett.

The helicopters have the ability to be the deadliest weapon on the battlefield because of the TV missile.  If someone is good enough then they will kill everything.  Only no one is that good

I wouldnt be so sure, I am starting to get teh hang of popping J10's out of the sky with teh tV missile while going solo chopper.

Now, its possible they are noobs, and im not teh best chopper pilot ever, and im usually half pissed when I play BF2.

Now you take some 17 year old kid, with lightning reactions, who sits there and plays solo chopper for 12 hours a day, (and Im sure those people are out there), I dont think anything could stop them.

Good LGM guy + Good pilot = Most effective vehicle in BF2. Especially the SU's as they have the missile dodging power. F15 - Not so much, plus it has really shit characteristics.

Id be almost inclined to agree with you there, as long as the LGM guy was really good.

Apart from the fact that a semi-decent pilot in the enemy fighter can kill the bomber every time... Anyway, I don't think choppas are godly or too good. They are vunerable to: jets, aa sites, aa vehicles, tanks, and 50 cals on jeeps. Not to mention the enemy choppas creeping up and tving you in the ass...
