Depends on if you count the guys actually shooting or all the grunts on the ground (you know the story?)

I'm not sure if these are accurate but one source says the Finns killed 1,000,000 of the invading Soviet troops for the loss of only 25,000 during the Winter War. That's about as good as it gets IRL I think.

And for those that don't think snipers are effective: Simo Häyhä, 500-0 (iron sights!)

The Real Life KDR average is 1:1, because all the kills is equal to all the deaths. So any number divided by itself is 1.

however, there are a lot of considerations that could be factored in:

SUICIDES: Do you count these? If so, does it count for a kill and a death by that individual?

FRIENDLY FIRE (a.k.a. TKs): Do you count these and if so do you count them only as deaths and not as kills since the kill isn't intentional.

Now, if you are only talking about the KDR of soldiers who have actually killed someone (and may or may not have died later) and are not factoring in all the poor souls that were killed and didn't kill anyone themselves, then it becomes more difficult. The KDR would fluctuate greatly over the centuries and across countries. For example, the KDR was most likely lower during the 18th century when most fighting was hand-to-hand. And these days it would be higher for soldiers from countries such as the USA that are more technologically advanced than most of it's adversaries.

Probably. In the wars of Finland died about 40 Russians per 1 Finnish. Russians have only admitted 10:1..

In that case you can neither say Russia or the fins are lieing. Its obviously one of them, but you cannot just say its one with zero evidence.

True but the finnish air-forces took the "nazi-cross" as their symbol a hellowa lotta time before hitler. so the have nothing to do with each other.

No it isn't, when you are using a tank you are going to get either owned by another tank, a plane, AT soldiers or a C4 monkey.

As infantry you can hide everywhere, take cover easily and sneak around to stay alive.
