are you like me who would sacrifice a extra 10-20fps for better quality or do you guys put it on low to get high fps even on 64 servers...to me quality of a game is very important so i dont mind the low fps now and then...how about you?
gameplay is everything my friend. If it has alright graphics, but extremely well done gameplay, im addicted, but if the gameplay blows, the graphics better take my fucking head off.
on my old pc where i had to sacrifice speed for looks i just went with the highest settings that would give me a min fps of 20
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
haha i have both
I have it on medium for textures and geometry, cos low on those look like ass, then I have lighting and stuff on low for framerate.
fps > quality
fps
I got at least 100fps no matter which settings, but i rather have some settings on low to see the opponent better. Killing & Winning is everything, if i want to see something realistic i go out of my house.
I actually just lowered most of my quality settings to get better fps. One thing I'm curious about though, I bought my monitor used from a friend. How do I know what display setting to use. (ie. 800X600, 1024X768, etc. and what about the 60hrz, 70hrz, etc.)? I really don't know anything about it. Anyway, I had it at 800X600 at 60hrz and moved it to 800X600 at 200hrz just to see if it would still work and if I noticed any differences. The only thing I noticed is my mouse moves a lot faster on the server selection screen. Can anyone give me a better explanation?
real gamers dont give a fuck about eye candy ... FPS FTWELITE-UK wrote:

theres nothing much to see anyway except arty shell trails and some other stuff

When I had my old graphics card I didn't like playing anything less than 50fps. Now that i've gotten a new system that can run almost everything maxed out above 50fps it's not much of a worry.
I think the only games i've noticed drop below 50fps when they've been maxed out is stuff like B&W 2, the games that really make the system work.

If i had to choose FPS FTW! For, how good do the roses smell .. when ur dead!
fortunately I don't have to choose

havent checked your stats (not that kind of guy) but one thing I know for sure: at 20FPS you die a whole f'** lot! if your computer cant do both go for gameplay. satisfaction comes from kills, not the textures (but I agree with you that gfx are cool and I am upgrading cause I dont want to miss it, after all)max wrote:

I put everything on low or off except geometry. Just so my fps stays liquid smooth. I can play with everything on medium but, when you have dynamic shadows on high it makes some corners very dark and, an easy hiding spot. Is easier to see with the settings on low.
If I have to choose, I want to be able to play better. I love graphics but if i'm getting killed because my screen is jerky or not processing fast enough, i just get down right mad!

When i first had this game i had a onboard gfx card all low with 20fps 75% view when i got my 7600gt i put it all medium as there aint much diff between high and med and im used to low fps
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.
FPS>gfx
all you need is high geometry and medium effects. and thats purefly to help kill more... so its all about fps.
800x600 low, low, low, low, off, off ...etc. still looks half decent tho tbh. anyone else find it irratating u cant change gamma etc. powerstrip ftw!
Gameplay. FPS is everything. Shit FPS = bad game experiences. Why have super high graphics with 5FPS and 3/20 scores when you can have low graphics with 100FPS and 20/3 scores?
All of my settings are on the lowest to give me maximum FPS.
