With the need to cut carbon emissions, big boy bush decided to pull out..the reason, because if he did it would ruin the american economy..thus further pumping out carbon at a alarming rate...this to me seams so selfish, meaning, why face ruining the world over a fucking economy. so what if the american economy suffers, doesnt the world mean more to him, the selfish bastard!?? anyone else agree here?

He's just greedy like the rest of the oil tycoons. Just do not judge all Americans based on Bush. Most Americans hate Bush.

Hes the president of America.  He cares more about his country than anywhere else.  Yes it is selfish but presidents from any other place would do the same.  I disagree.

Give me a fucking break about carbon emmissions and shit. We dont have to worry shit about global warming. We are due for another mini ice age(actualy over due by about 40 years) and if the glaciers keep melting that is EXATCTLY what will happen.

You know, the area I live in is less smelly than it was over fifteen years ago. Why? Not because of reduced traffic (if anything, there is more), but because a really noxious industrial plant shut down.

Dude... Chill out... It's all about the money, or however the dong goes... The US can EASILY cut the emissions, and they could have earned BILLIONS doing if they had invested in the tech YEARS ago, and "sold" their knowledge to everyone else... Same as some european countries did.
But they didn't, so now they have to BUY that tech.
The US could EASILY cut billions of metric tons of CO2 by pumping out hydrogen powered cars, electric cars, hybrid cars, cars that run on plant oil, fuel cell engines, methanol powered cars. Not to mention Home heating systems, electricty generation, lawnmowers, golf carts, trucks, trains etc. etc.....
But hey, that would require another smart investment like the one with the carbon filters.... Why not go for another mistake while we're at it.....
Considering Bushs background in banking and shit like that, it's really amazing he can't convince congress that you have to INVEST money to get intrest.... I think the US is too used to getting stuff for free... Or maybe that's just a republican trait.... I dont know... Certainly the liberals in the rest of the world aren't THAT tough to convince when it comes to a sound business descision.... I'm assuming there must be some logical and smart reason behind it.... Just not sure what it is....

Sorry I cant afford to play twice as much in taxes, more in gas,  get paid less at work for them having to pay for new policies, and have to get a car that costs 150% of what it does now because of all the crap in the air. I think he did it right, the economy has to work with the change not against because otherwise even if he wants to reduce the emissions for the rest of the world all it would end up doing is hurting our economy then causing the change to fail at a later date then have an even harder time reducing emissions because of the damage it had done.  The American people are willing to change if the change doesn't hurt them. So if they sell cars that run on E85 or are hybrid we will buy them if they don't cost twice as much and have to buy a $5000 battery every 3yrs. All they have to do is release a cool car or build a hydroelectric dam that has an amusement part build in to fund the building of it. We would be all set if they did that. But for anyone trying to say its selfish to not want to ruin your countries economy is foolish.

Dude... People said the same thing about carbon filters back in the 80'ies and 90'ies.... But we put them up, got good at making them, cut emmissions, and started earning money by selling this expertise to other countries. And strangely enough, despite the factories getting a new filter on their oven or chimney, or cars, prices didn't go up.... The cost was just simply too low to "inflict" any major damage to our economy.

I totally agree, if it means paying twice as much for a car, dont do it... But lets say it was a LAW that car companies could only sell cars in the US if at least HALF the cars sold were alternative energy cars.... that would mean that the production volume would go UP, and thus the price pr unit would go DOWN. Eventually, more and more cars would be alternative energy cars, and you would get better, and cheaper service, than you can get now, you would get less emissions, and hopefully, if people buy american cars, it would help the local manufacturers. And in 2-3 years, exports would be HUGE !!!!!!!

And for the record, I BUY an entire electric car for $5000 (ok, a SMALL one, but it's electric, ok ?)... That's NOT the price of a battery, anyone telling you THAT is just trying to sell you more oil.

I agree that change needs to be gradual. I doubt that there even IS enough production capacity to exchange all the diesel and gasoline powered engines arounf the US within a forseable future.... But like the old saying goes: "There's no time like the present". So get things started NOW, even small scale, but the sooner we start, the sooner we see results.

You don't even know what you are talking about, it's not carbon emissions; it's freaking carbon dioxide That's Not the same thing at all. Shortening it to "carbon" makes it something else completely.

I don't like W Bush, and I like this post even less. you just give the "pundit wannabes" ammo to fire back at you later. How about instead of just creating threads to make yourself karma opportunities; think about something no one else has said a million times, make sure you have punctuated, created paragraphs, and used at least decent grammar. You will at the very least not seem like you are grasping at straws for a discussion topic.

As for calling the president selfish, you really have to look in the mirror and ask yourself what have you done to save the environment, other than put a poorly worded rant on some game site.

BWAHHAAHAHAHAA.  Nice try.  Look at China.  The US would have to put a lot more Ford Excurisons

all right, wrap your minds around this;

Please think about those huge fucking cargo ships that travel the oceans from country to country. They all have to be powered by some form of fossil fuel, since nuclear technology is a no-go for these ships. Also those nifty Tractor-tailors (think of how many of these big bastards run freely upon the highways of the US/Canada/Mexico) that transport those cargo containers around and all the railway companys like BNSF and Union Pacific, all burn fossil fuels. Those hippies need to quit whining about SUVs and Pickup Trucks.
