FIXED My dad, king of computer engineers forgot to plug in the extra power cable to the mobo.
----

All my computer parts arrive today.

Spent an hour installing it all in.

Bios does not start.

Spent another hour going to the shops and buying a cheap PCI-E graphic card thinking it will fix it.

It didn't, Ive tried all the possible choices of putting and taking out components etc. Ive got nothing.

Im taking it to the same place where I got the graphic card hopefully they will give me some sorta discount and of course fix it.

PS: My motherboard is an AliveSATA2-GLAN and there is power going to it - fans-a-turnin'

You mean, there's no display? Or you get a post screen and nothing happens? Please specify.

i had a similar prob when i build my new system. Turns out it didnt like the 2 ram sticks i had in there. I took one out, and it booted up. Try doing that, or try a diff ram stick altogether. A lot of the time, you can update the chipset drivers after you get it working an dthen it'll accept both sticks.

hope this helps

No beeps. Only fans. Tried every combination of ram in out/graphic card in out etc.

try resetting the bios. often they need a reset before you can start for the first time

You won't wipe it for good - just use the CLR CMOS jumper on the mobo - should be instructions in yer mobo manual.

If you change components (GPU, HDD, sound card, mem whatever) and the PC wont POST it's 90-95% of the time the Mobo that is the culprit, if you get no beeps this is a surefire indication that the Mobo can't even start a self diagnostic... The last 5-10% are usually the PSU or.... Believe it or not... the CASE (check if you have put in your screws correctly, and do not short the board ANYWHERE).

Your ram may be un-supported by the mobo, make sure it is campatible via the manual and make sure the ram is in the slot properly.
