Ever since they made claymores indestructible by hand grenades, I'd say everyone has experienced games ruined by claymores. (namely on karkand and warlord, but all urban maps can suffer from it) So what if they made it so claymores won't explode five seconds after you die? I think that would help alot of the spamming, and you know once you kill the sniper just sit still for five seconds and you're good.
Nope. I just avoid them...Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Not a bad idea, not at all....but the claymores would stay there for about 2 mins.....unactive.....just to keep you guessing....
I like the idea....

How do you cap the TV station flag on Warlord?-Solv3r- wrote:

plenty of ways to get into it other than the stairway
Make sure you have a medic in your squad,
then he goes in last.
He might not get full capture points but he gets all the revives.

Avoiding the claymores..? Walk on the right side, have you never noticed it says in Swedish: "Denna siden mot fienden"? Which means "This side against the enemy". Well, walk on the other side then...Flaming_Maniac wrote:

dude i always play with FF ON. Like Adicted-to-games Warlord.
If they were going to change them they ahould make them destructible (not just hand grenades, but by anything if shot enough) - It would be way more real this way than 'mystical' ones that know when the owner died.
Also a sniper can set one up to defend not just him but his squad - this would disadvantage the squad.
Also if shooting them enough set them off then a sniper could set them off as a remote weapon - and instead of always having to wait a static 5 seconds - the time it took to destroy clays in your path would be dependent on how mnay in your squad and how well it worked together.

No, on Warlord you can easily defend the flag with two claymores from one sniper. One right by the flag facing the doorway , and another right by the flag facing out towards the balcony to get people who grapple up there. I would also be in favor ofmaking them destructible, but I think that this would make them so that they would be used in self-defense, instead of spamming them while toe-to-toe with an assault rifle, because that would no longer get you anywhere.
btw, I'm a sniper.

i say all weapons should be able to activate the claymore and the activation time should be like 5sec. Then snipers need to rethink where they put it so you can blast snipers with their own claymore.
I had a noob sniper bunny hopping and dropping claymores around the flag i was trying to cap. Turned out he killed himself with his own claymores and teamkilled the man that killed me when he tried to recap the flag back.
Can't do much about getting killed by claymores if you walk infront of one... pehaps they should reduce the damage and detection radius. Otherwise always have a medic nearby when advancing

they need to be destroyable, and a helluva lot more sensitive when they throw em down, because IRL u toss a claymore and its gonna blow up. they take a long time to set up too.
The claymore is generally remotly detonated by the use of a trip wire, not set of by sensing a person infront of it, plus they have a 100m blast radius...

They should add a delay to setting Claymores and C4. You pull the explosive out and click and hold to set it. You'd have to hold for 5 seconds.
Also they should add a stiffer penalty for killing your self with C4. It's kinda lame how people have such a complete disregard for their own lives that they are willing to run at you, throw some c4 down, and then blow you both to hell. Maybe a penalty such as double ticket loss (your team loses two tickets instead of one for your stupid action) and a two minute respawn time for that player.
If you continue to play the suicide bomber, then the penalties should continue to double or something. If the problem persists the player should be auto kicked.

make them destructable, period.
we can simply learn to avoid them
Agreed or get a engineer to scoop them up.Fallschirmjager10 wrote:

It would suck for specops trying to blow a tank though. I swear they never reverse until AFTER you lay 2 C4 charges and start pulling out the detonator...Dex Luther wrote:

There's tactics to this game correct?Dex Luther wrote:

And you tell me that there's no tactics in car bombs they are quite a bright idea if you ask me for one of your teams tickets you could save 10's of tickets to stop the tank from spawn camping which results in your tickets going down further so, GO JIHAD JACK
You've got a point there. But the Jihad c4 bombers are still lame.turkeybacon wrote:

scoop um from a corner? sometimes you really cant avoid them, sometimes snipers assault and "trap" the enemy team. honestly this whole debate is retarded. claymores are definitly a bad part of bf2.MuseSeeker wrote:

heres what i think should be done in the interest of gameplay.

Explosives
General
Engineers, snipers and spec ops should only be able to remove/pickup/destroy thier own explosives, or the enemies, but not teammates. Friendly mines/claymores/c4 should have a blue x, and your own should be yellow.
Mines
Enemy mines should be invisable unless a friendly engineer is "in range", then they should have a red x. Mines should be destructable, but should be half as strong as a commander asset.
C4
Enemy c4 should be visable but shouldnt have a red x. C4 should be able to be disabled by shooting it a couple times, or chucking a grenade near it.
Claymores
Enemy claymores should be visable but shouldnt have a red x unless a friendly engineer is "in range". Claymores should be able to be disabled by shooting them or chucking a grenade near them, given the fact that they use an ir sensor, its only fair.
Disable and take
Engineers should be able to disable c4. Snipers and spec ops should be able to pick up thier types of explosives.
