I was looking through the help post and I saw where people were having trouble with the ingame mic and suggested alternate software such as Ventrillo and TS. I am in a clan that use both so speaking with them is no problem. But when I am playing with non clan members I cannot speak with them at quick times with typing. I definately would much rather press a single button and communicate but BF2's mic configuration wizard does not detect when I say anything.
Basically every other application I have used detects the mic fine, examples: Ventrillo, TS, Windows voice recorder, Windows mic test, and Unreal Tournament 2004 in-game voice. With all these detecting I cannot get BF2 to detect.
I am currently using Intel's onboard 7.1 High Def sound card from the 915 chipset. I have drivers that are current atleast within a months time. I was wondering if anyone else is using the same sound hardware and have dealt and resolved this issue OR if BF2's mic configurator looks for the mic in certain files/reg keys and if these can be manually altered to point BF2 to my mic jack?
