Okay well, I have had 1.5mbs SBC ADSL (yahoo), for ayear, contract went away, and so my mother (yes my mother, im only 15 har har) got a different contract , ADSL PRO (the 1.5mbs to 3.0mb/s)

My question is, anyone know how long it takes them to upgrade it to 3.0mb/s? its still at 1.5mb/s , and the person on the phone never said when. I just want to have a faster connection:p

I did the same exact upgrade.

It didn't happen right away, it took a few days IIRC.

How long ago did the contract get renewed? There may be things that they have to upgrade, such as equpiment, DSLAM, something in their CO, etc, etc. At my company, someone wants to upgrade from 1 meg to 5 meg, all we gotta do is change their account from 1 to 5, then adjust their modem to support up to 5. Takes maybe a couple days for us. IDK about SBC.

I dont have to upgrade the modem or anything, im pretty sure they dont make ADSL modems that only support 1.5megs:p

I guess itll take a few days:(

When I got my DSL upgraded, my upload speeds went up, but D/L stayed the same. After a couple of days of that I contacted a SBC guy through www.dslreports.com and he had them look at my line. Turns out they b0rk3d something doing the switchover, but within an hour or so my D/Ls were up to speed.
