Hm, in another thread Mr. BMW330i said he bought his car used, and it´s a 2003. Now he owns it since 2003, strange! And futher a 330i will never cost 75.000 €. Well I have absolutley no clue how much BMW´s are in your country, but 75k´s for a E39 530d, wohoooooo. With all extras and even with the M-sports package it´s something around 62-65k´s here in germany, and I´m talking about the E65 series. Anyways, for shure, BMW have some faults, some of them. My 330d is a 2002 and my watercooling was broke this year, with 130k km on the watch. Never had any problems with my cars, none of them, before. But this faults also happen by other brands like Audi and Mercedes. A buddy and I picked up his Audi A8 4.2 quattro at the factory in Ingelstadt/Germany, after we´ve leaved the rear axis got broken! The car was factory new, price around 82ks € with 2,5 km´s on the watch. You see!

I bought the car in november 2003, had 11 000 kms on it when purchased from the dealer. Whoever owned it previously got rid of it quick and bought it the previous year.

It cost 75k when it was ordered before any were for sale in 2003. Cars in Germany tend to cost a lot less than in Finland too.

I think I've just been unlucky with the vehicle. BMW's couldn't be selling so good if they had as many problems as this one...

woooh, didnt know that. Ever thought the prices would be nearly the same in Europe. Diffrent story in the States I would say, something like a turbo tends to get broken. Depends on the age and the driver Nothing is perfect, even industrial manufactered products, although they are expensive But as far as I can tell, the german brands deal pretty good with failures and stuff.

I'm teh bestest at driving!

And about the age. I'm not really sure when the turbo broke, but it was around 30000km. So there definately was something wrong with it in the first place.
The car is also automatic, so you can't really rev it...

The thing that pisses me off is that they charged for repairing the turbo of a car that has barely touched the streets!

My car is a luxury sedan that happens to go very fast and perform well on the twisties but there is absolutely no way with my steptronic transmission or weight will I EVER be able to compete with a high-end sportsbike.
this makes me wonder!!! In former posts it seemed like your car will burn everything, well although you´ve never said something like this, this is the only content I can see in your posts. On the other side, I´ve read somewhere above that your 330i should outperform a Honda Civic Type-R. Well, not at all, and with a steptronic in absolutley no way. Type-R´s acceleration is way better than your cars, futher Type-R is not a fatfass like your´s. Topspeed will be the domain for your car. On a racetrack, a Type-R will own you badly! (and this has nothing to do with skills)
BMW ftw, would you rather sit in a cheap ass honda with accord switches everywhere or a nice bimma with some pimp leather?hmmmmmmm. The bmw is heavier because its made better, and it will still hit 0-60 in 6.3, as opposed to the r's 6.5 second time. And for the record a 330ci would probally beat a type r round a track, given its higher top speed and better acceleration.  As for weight...well drifting with the rwd can get you round bends faster than a torquesteertastic r.

yep, maybe? You´ve tried it by yourself? No? Hm, you see I battled (woohoo, this sounds pimpsytlegalore) a Civic Type R with my E46 M3 CSL April this year on Nürburgring Grüne Hölle aka Nordschleife. Mine was faster though, the Type R doesnt had a chance at all. Compare 360hp with 200hp and the engine with the most hp for litres with a modified 1.8 4 block. Same in a 330 (sedan, coupe) no f*cking way. Doesnt count for a 330d, because those have way better nm than the i´s.

A friend of mine, has an old E30 M3 (4 zylinders 2.3 litres 232 hp) with some badass modifications, and the stock Type R gave him hell on this track. Sidenote: both driver, the M3 driver and the Type R driver drive in a german racing league, furhter the M3 driver is a factory test driver of BMW.

To say it like BF2 Type R [ownz] 330i especially automatic, non SMG

In North America the designation for Type-R is the Acura RSX.

And that civic you "battled" is modded up the ass. There is no way a stock type-R can pull out the performance you are describing.

And for the record a 2006 330i puts out 260 hp.

105 hp is added on my 330i that has a stock 235hp, for an accumulative peak of 340hp. The kit is the stage 1 VF Engineering package.

eeeeeeeeeeeh wrong again man. E90 is 265 hp, E46 still 231hp, 2006 last edition has 235hp (931 pieces). Type R Civic over here in Europe has 200hp stock.

Further, your BMW 330i, if its the car on the sig picture, is never a 2003. Because its the pre facelift, so it has 231hp stock (btw, the rims you have, I only drive in winter on my 330d). I would say, the picture you posted is a 2001 330i without any extras like M-sportpackage and stuff. Series standard 330. Nothing special, and such cars you can see here on every corner.

E46 330i combi 2003 facelift
https://img1.putfile.com/thumb/9/26313163373.jpg

You can see major diffrences in the front. So yours isnt a 2003!

And wooohooo, your eh, standard 330i is charged to 340hp. Could be a menace for my M3CSL then. Erm, not really man. You´re able to steam 340hp with the standard axis and those rims? Do you have ceramic breaks on this? Dont seem so, looks like standard. No way to handle this amount of hp. Would be needed. Otherwise the power is way to huge for the standard transmission. But if you say so.

Why i sold it, good question. I'm big on styling and after 2 years, i wanted a change. Ideally, i wanted to keep it and pick up a second ride but it just wasn't financially practical for me.

Got a great deal on a 04 SL500R and haven't looked back! It's not as powerfull as the M3 but it certainly has the toys; i just love the retractable hardtop. Like i expected tho, it's not as visceral or agressive as the bimmer, you just don't wear the road like you do in an M3...hence, why i'm looking forward to the 08' M3

Looks you have an all bimmer family there, ace The M6 is an absolute monster
