woooho, 04 SL500R, pretty nice car. I like Mercedes Benz very much, actually the design of those cars is pretty aggressive for the last few years. Sure, compared to a M BMW the stock Benz´s arent racers, but they have enough balls too Ever tried a AMG? I´ve heard a lot of those modified Benz´s and I think those are a par for M´s

Yep, drove quite a few of em. The most recent being the SLK55, which was fantastic. Even though the automatic (merc makes the best autos!) is great i prefer a manual on a small sporty car. It looks pretty nice but the stylings are a bit to fem for me....doesn't help that a chick friend of mine has an SLK280

AMGs are definetly a match for M's at the appropriate price range except...they get a lot more expensive. The SL65 puts out 604bhp

The biggest problem with BMW is that everything is an option or an extra. You have to buy the stock car then if you want air con its an extra if you want electric windows its an extra if you want indicators that work (if your in the uk you will understand that) its an extra.

You have to pay for the car then add the bits you want, thats why I love the Jap cars because EVERYTHING comes in the car as standard equipment.

You say that BMW's are made better than civics? Hmm i would like to disagree with you on that point. So far it has been reported that Honda have made over 3 million of the VTEC engines and NOT ONE has broken (other than wear and tear usage). Honda constantly come in at the top group of customer satisfaction surveys (ref Top Gear).

BMW's will always be over priced for what they are, don't get me wrong if you were to give me an M3 then I would certainly drive it, but buy one with my own money? No. BMW's are now only driven by fat sales man especially in the UK.

And that civic you "battled" is modded up the ass. There is no way a stock type-R can pull out the performance you are describing.

And for the record a 2006 330i puts out 260 hp.

105 hp is added on my 330i that has a stock 235hp, for an accumulative peak of 340hp. The kit is the stage 1 VF Engineering package.

Not nesessarily its all about the power to weigh ratio. Check the atom out, it uses the same engine as the civic type R and that is a car the trounce pretty much anything it comes up against.
