Hey, I can dream. Can't see my wife letting me have one anyway. I'm not even allowed a bike
I know what you mean, I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking of getting a bike and she told me she would remove all bedroom privileges, currently I'm still deciding what will change?DoctorFruitloop wrote:

Yeah, you can have a bike, and never get any, orrrr, not get the bike and not get any....... Hmmmm let me think!
VROOM VROOM!
Mine's more a, "every programme I watch I see someone on a bike get hurt or killed, YOU'RE NOT HAVING ONE!" argument.

Yap, M6 ownz badly, but not if my dad is driving it 130 km/h on german highway maxed. I told him, he should have talked to BMW that they block the last three gears, because he doesnt need them. Mostly he is driving the M6 in the V8 400hp mode. Like my mom said: "dear, why do you have to buy this car? It´s a monster, but when you´ll drive, it will became a pussycat! I just cant see any need for it" So true.eagles1106 wrote:

Your wife[real life ownz] you,
hm, but man, I can understand you, every part of the story. When I´ve sold my R1 my GF and even my mom was like hell yeah! I´ve decided last year to check some other bike´s again. The only one they felt comfortable about was a Harley Davidson(!!!), but they still dont seem to see any good in a bike And no, I dont want to buy a Chopper, not yet. Maybe I should ask my dad, what do you say Agamemnar?!
omg how old is he?

Usque Ad Finem
my Dad? 55 years only. When I was young and drove with my parents everywhere, my dad loved to go fast paced, but nowadays On the other side, one day he complained about a BMW X3 3.0i that this car is limited to 220km/h
same 4 my dad! hes 48 and sometimes he drives like a 80 year old grandpa (audi a6 170 HP)
.... seems to be normal when ur gettn older!
thats the reason for the high risk group 18-24 ^^

yep, maybe? You´ve tried it by yourself? No? Hm, you see I battled (woohoo, this sounds pimpsytlegalore) a Civic Type R with my E46 M3 CSL April this year on Nürburgring Grüne Hölle aka Nordschleife. Mine was faster though, the Type R doesnt had a chance at all. Compare 360hp with 200hp and the engine with the most hp for litres with a modified 1.8 4 block. Same in a 330 (sedan, coupe) no f*cking way. Doesnt count for a 330d, because those have way better nm than the i´s.
A friend of mine, has an old E30 M3 (4 zylinders 2.3 litres 232 hp) with some badass modifications, and the stock Type R gave him hell on this track. Sidenote: both driver, the M3 driver and the Type R driver drive in a german racing league, furhter the M3 driver is a factory test driver of BMW.

well when I was 18 I bought a Honda CRX 1.6 VTEC, modified it with 17" Rims, Group-A exaust and stuff. I can remeber I´ve got stopped by the cops nearly every week. Also they caught me four times in only one year driving above the limits (greetings Officer Haubenschneider, you owe me 500 €) My next car was also a Honda, a Prelude 93 with 3.0 litres V6, also modified up the ass. After that I´ve bought my first BMW. A E36 320i coupe 95 with M-Package and 18" rims. Since that day, I´ve only got flashed by the cops once. Hm, seems to be true, if you grow older, you drive slower
At the moment, a 6 series coupe. I wouldn't buy the M6 if i could, don't get me wrong, it is a monster...but... you can't get active roll stablization, nightvision (damn straight) or active cruise control. The main thing that would bother me is the M5, same V10 power for like 20grand less.Sl4y3r wrote:
I´m just curious guys, what is your fav. BMW modell? Or I better ask, which series would you buy?

Mine too, haha, but I rather stick to vehicles with 4 wheels or more. I have seen how my little brother drives on those 2 wheeled vehicles of doom, and I am not getting on one, if it were the last vehicle on the world.Sl4y3r wrote:

I rather have the protection of an airbag and side-impact bars rather than none.
I myself learned to drive in a bmw 3 series, 1.8i. These are pretty good to drive, but I rather have the Fiat Stilo Abarth or the Spanish Seat Leon Fr (or Cupra). They are far better responsive and handling. A BMW is more an executive car, and hasn't got any style to be honest.

vs

It is just like the VolksWagen Golf IV GTI compared to the Golf V. The M3 is fat and slow, it has way to much stuff that isn't needed on a performance vehicle.
Can't really complain about my wife, she bought me my car.

It's a bit hairdresser I know, but it does me, and we're not as rich as we'd like.

I really feel for you mate, But saying that I drive a 300hp Impreza but I have to admit that a lot of the racer inside you goes away especially when there are 2 child seats in the back. But on those very rare days when its only me and machine its so much fun to open it up down those country lanes.DoctorFruitloop wrote:

First of all, the BMW in the pic is a E90 3**, not a M3.Bernadictus wrote:

I dont agree with you here Bernie. The Cupra is a awesome car and yeah, it´s fast. But compared to a BMW M3, not a match. Without doubt, M3 is the most sportive series vehicle atm. And always remember, BMW doenst charge this engine with turbos or other stuff, The actual E46 M3 engine is the engine with the most hp (101,6) per litre. Comparing it to a Golf GTI or Cubpa, or Opel OPC (sp) is not possible at all. You´ve said the M3 is fat and slow? Well, a M3 give´s hell to a Porsche 911, so I dont think it will have problems to burn a GTI or Curpa at all. And for the purists, there is the CSL, 20hp more and 270kg less weight.
And about the style, good, tastes are diffrent, but have you ever seen a BMW parked beside a GTI/Cupra? Well, the VW/Seat looks like a puppy.
Further you cant compare a BMW 318i with a M3, M3CSL not even with a 330i... Worlds!!! Btw, a 330i sedan E36 burns a GTI/ Cupra too...

and this E30 M3 series (one similar)
And I´ve seen it with my own eye, even the tracktimes against my buddies E30 M3. The M won yeah, but the Type R was more than close. And if you wanna tell me a E30 M3 isnt faster, much more agile like a series E46 330i sedan with automatic (not SMG), you dont have any idea.
This is a standard E46 2001 series (I guess a 328 or 323 or 320i), no match for a M3 E30.
