I personally found teamwork in BF2 non-existant within public squads. I mean 75% of the time your squadleader would completely ignore you if you asked for, supplies, artillery, uav, vehichle drop and orders. Worst of all if you are the only 6 man squad on your 32 player team and your SL is busy in a jet.
I mean reading the blurb at the back of the BF2 case and in the manual about teamwork makes me kinda chuckle but sad that no one can really be assed.

2142 will be featuring a more dynamic squad play for example if you stay with a squad long enough you get a temperary unlock. This is ment to promote squad play and teamwork, I dont think so.
People think that the Titan takeovers will require teamwork? Naw I dont think so...throughout the entire beta it was just all in a big group spamming ammobags whilst some assualt shoots the control panel.

The only keen feature on teamplay I see is the extra points if you attack an ordered location. But thats all I see unless ive missed something.

Well im asking do you think we will se teamwork or improve teamwork in BF2? Please leave your opinion. Thanks.

PS: Do you like teamwork or do you prefer the "deathmatch style" of BF2

I voted for "same as BF2". When I played that beta I didn't really notice any difference in teamwork from BF2. Although you really can't succeed in destroying the enemy Titan unless you have some amount of teamwork. So the only way I saw real teamwork is when I was in the Titan.

I think it's going to be the same or less amount of teamwork. I usually play on a server that emphasises squadwork(if the admins aren't lazy, they'll kick you if you aren't squaded up). So when that server has a lil ppl to play with early in the mornin, I have no choice but to go to another server. This is when the lack of teamwork on normal pubs is insanely apparent.

I just don't understand why people forgo teamwork. Is it the points? Did they not know you win more easily when teamwork is used on a team basis? And imo, teamwork is MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun than 18/32 players lonewolfing, with the other 14 filling squads that have sl's that don't give orders! The thing I hate the MOST in bf2 is squadleaders that don't give orders. Next to that are squadleaders who are snipers/flying in jets/flyin in heli's. That's not squadleading, that's bs'ing!

Yea, I DOUBT teamwork will be used in bf2142 unless it's a "squad/voip-only" server where they enforce the shit. Why? Last year when I first learned about bf2 and battlefield, the biggest thing that stuck out to me is (and the reviews went like this) "wow you can now spawn on your squadleader, ENHANCING the already great potential for teamwork." I'm like "o rly? nice, I love bf2 already" Now I wait 5-30 minutes or even more to play bf2 cuz I will NOT play on a server other than my "squad/voip-only" one, for lack of teamwork everywhere else. Not too suprisingly, it is always full during wake hours.

I think in conquest 2142 will be the same, but in Titan we will experience greater teamwork than in BF2

I think you're missing something. Number one, you gotta find better servers to play in. Joining some random pub server in any game will get you hardly any teamwork.

Titan gameplay was fun, IMO.... I mean, what exactly is your definition of teamwork? 10-20 people raiding an enemy vehicle at the same time is far more than teamwork, IMO. The one or two times I was able to play the beta I used that spawn point module thing, and we all supported, revived, gave ammo, and cleared the rooms and hallways with ease. It's teamwork at it's best

What you're talking about could be *basic* teamwork. Let's say you were facing a team with players who all had mics, from commander on down, who all communicated and coordinated their fight, vs you and your team, who simply met all the prerequisites of winning, e.g. giving ammo, reviving ur team8s, and attacking the obvious goal of the mode. Who would win? I reckon the team who had the tight ass communication goin:p

But I'm simply going on what you told us here, as I didn't play in the games you played and didn't witness the gameplay first hand. Maybe bf2142 engenders some sort of really great collective teamwork, maybe EA did it this time!!! If they did, you can be damn sure bf2142 is where you'll find me!!!!!!!

*edit* not sure if you were talking about bf2 or bf2142, but if you were talking about those "better (bf2) servers" for teamwork, and if they are 64 player, mind giving me some ips? TY HEHE:P

Well, ya, it's more of a collective teamwork than a real-world style mic teamwork. But it's better because right off the bat, without even trying, BF2 and 2142 have more teamwork than half of the other online multiplayer games out there.

I thought there was about the same amount of teamwork in the beta, but it was focused differently. Whenever I played in a squad it seemed to be more focused on combat, especially on the titan. Of course, there was the medic and the support guy, but where in BF2 supply boxes and medic bags are thrown at you constantly, even when you don't need them, in 2142 people have their guns out a lot more. Being in a squad seemed more about covering each other's backs to me.

Hey, is this because you have to Unlock your support kit toys, hence, more gunfighting cuz ppl didn't have them yet? Just wondering;)

i think its at least the same teamwork at one spectrum and no teamwork at all in another spectrum.

all the noobs and morons in battlefield 2 will go to 2142 and screw it up.

The demise of battlefield2 ---i blame it on two things
1) Nooobs and morons who do the stupidest things, like spawn kill all day long like ECR.RC in a tank and not take flags/ much less defend them
2) CTD, bugs, connection problems, gliches

THERE IS A BETTER CHANCE FOR ME TO BE IN AN EPISODE OF DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES WITH EVA LONGORIA THAN THERE IS ME SEEING SOME DECENT TEAMWORK

well, i think i heard that you get points for following orders, so yes i think teamwork will be better

i think 2142 will add alot of subtle changes like we seen jumping from BFV to BF2, and some will deal with teamwork

its hard to find good clans these days. some people hardly play at all, like me when i have school all day long.

i think there should me more clans that promote good etiquite play than learning all the hacks and exploits.

I never played BFV or BF42, but I KNOW that bf2's potential for l33t ass teamwork is HUGE. IF (and this fact is solidifying as more threads like this come out) bf2142's potential and incentive for teamwork is BETTER than bf2, then I can officially praise Dice for their intuition, hardwork, and paying attention to WHAT needed to be improved on for the bf2 community as a whole.
