I have been trying just to get the basic forever. C4/Claymore/AT-Mine. Does this mean you have to use both AT and Mine, or just one in combo wit the others?

You can use any combination of C4, Claymores, or AT Mines. e.g.: for basic you could have 3 C4 and 2 Claymore, or 5 Claymores, or 4 AT Mines and a C4. You get the point.

I got my Vet just using Claymores.
If you have SF find a Warlord server, let the enemy team take one floor of the Palace and clay whore away
