I was watching a documentary this weekend and there was a retired military doctor on there.  His theory on the Gulf War Syndrome is the escalated use of depleted uranium in weaponry.  Has anyone else seen or heard of this before?

DU weaponry is one cause for many sicknesses, but the GW Syndrome (wow, pun intended) is, in my opinion, from the vaccinations taken, which for the most part don't fall under FDA supervision. But there were many other things in the air that could cause it.  I got discharged before being deployed to saudi in '91 but my friend who enlisted with me made it to the gulf, stayed 4 months, and returned with it..though it took a while to fester and develop the symptoms.

There could have also been an actual airborne chemical or biolgical attack done by unknown enemies that brushed through many camps including riyadh.

the thing is that his is a theory, the problem being that there has not yet been found one common denominator among the victims, and until one is found they will never know what caused it

This has nothing to do with real life but if you saw the Manchurian Candidate they had fictional characters with gulf-war syndrome... it's a cool movie, both the original and the 2004 remake.

I was in the Gulf in 90/91 for 6 months during Desert Shield/Storm and don't have any Gulf War Syndrome symptoms.

Here in Australia they did a big study into it.   Basically they tested all the Aussies that went as well as some that didn't and they could not find any common symptoms or issues.  The final finding was that there was no GWS!!

All of my close friends from that time are fine as well.  There is a few people that I served with that say they have it but no-one in my group.

There was a couple of theories including the depleted uranium rounds and the injections.  We were made to line up for meals and two medics would come along and inject you in both arms at the same time for things such as anthrax and the black plague (to name only a few).

The biggest unknown was these tablets called NAPS (Nerve Agent Preventative Shit?) that were designed to build an immunity to nerve gas.  We had to take them every 8 hrs for 3 months (Most of us gave up after the first few weeks).  It turned out that these things weren't properly tested and they don't know what the side effects are.

The key word in Depleted Uranium is DEPLETED!  Meaning, no longer radioactive.  Of course that doesn't mean that it isn't harmful, it is a heavy metal, like Lead... but wait, what have bullets been made of since the creation of the gun?

Did you know that the main battle tanks of the US, UK, France, and Germany use a form of depleted uranium as armor?

Depleted as reduced U-235 content.  It's still got a 4.5 billion year half life, and it still mutates mice.  The institutions who will tell you it's harmless all have a vested interest in it's sale and use.

As far as the gulf war syndrome goes though, I remember seeing a documentary that said it was caused by the pills and injections. Depleted uranium will just bring cancer to the soldiers and their children.
