I usually am chopper pilot and I like to have a gunner usually, but i hate when im at an enemy flag, land the chopper so the gunner can get out to help cap the flag quicker while i hover.  But for some strange reason the idiot wont get out and just stay in the chopper with me, even after i tell him to get out. Then boom we are dead either by c4 or a bombing run. Are there any othere pilots out there who hate dumbass gunners who wont get out to cap the flag?

Roger that, thinking outside the box doesn't always seem to be most players idea about playing to win.

yeah, actually I find a better strategy is to have the pilot get out and watch the rear of the chopper and the gunner stays in and owns up the front with the chopper gun.

No i dont leave my gunner behind. If i find a gunner who is actually smart enough to get out to help cap the flag, i will do every thing i could to keep him in my chopper.  I see the pilots youve flown with dont know  what there doing.

Indeed. People don't get out because they don't like being left behind. Dosn't apply to me though. I'm still on the old patch.

But think about it, u will get points for only staying out of the chopper for only like 10 sec. easy points

I don't usually get out because the couple times I did, my pilot flew off without me. But if the pilot is smart, I'll get out and help cap.

If your gunner doesn't want to get out, just don't hover that low. Just use him as defense by spinning while hovering to take out the baddies. If you get down too low, I will probably snipe you out with my M95, or you will get killed by anti-tank/assault. I usually jump out on my own, even before you tell me to bail out, but I know that most likely I will be left behind by my pilot unless we made some sort of connection. (Like I tked original gunner to take his place, or like i own enough to make him come back for me).

I've given up on the capping a flag thing unless I know it's gonna be empty, primary job is air support anyway against tanks, other choppers, and enemy noobs.

well for you, u might not leave them behind but out of 10 pilots i say about 8 will just leave, its like i said the street goes both ways.

you've encouter some people that dont get out of the chopter, and i've encouter some pilots that just leave me behind.

its part of the game, cant really make them get out after sprinting hard to get in the chopter in the first place LOL

Then u would love to fly with me then. i had peeps tk each other in order to get the gunners seat with me. I cant speak for the other pilots but i wont leave my gunner behund cuz i need him for the next flag, i dunno i guess its a rare thing for pilots to pick up there gunners but i always do. U sshould fly with me one time, youll see what im talking bout. Ill get u crazy points.

I normally don't cap flags when in an attackchopper, but I patrol the area until a ground team member comes by.

9 out of 10 times whenever i try to cap a flag in that thing, I get killed by a TV missile or a tank or something..

Hmm i personally land / hover to let him get out, ONLY time i take off os if i get af jet on me. But then i take off and IMMIDIATLY land to pick him up.

Gunners need to help take flags, that way you aren't exposed that long (move to stay alive, stand still to fly high (arty))

kripp,

I find your scenario mildly annoying, but it's their loss of points right?  They probably aren't aware of the changes in the patch.  I'm sure a lot of people just installed it without reading about it.  You may even be able to make this work for you.  Be creative.

Agree in most cases, but if on Gulf of oman ie. a durca durca makes it to the farthest western flags and neutralises it, i'd fly over there in a hearbeat, kill him and take flag back.

Sometimes i'm to bored in the air, so it gives an adrenalin rush to take a flag

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU LAND THE ATTACK CHOPPER TO CAP THE FLAG? Yesterday I had a situation like Gulf of Oman, Enemy has only uncapt. base and one neutral flag. And Mi pilot landed his heli near the center flag + let his gunner out to help. And what? Both of them was blown up with M203. (1 grenade in the front windshield is enough to kill). So I guess that the attack chopper should be in flight all the time and  if capping flags shouldnt be landed. Dont take it personal, just my opinion...

I only drop out my gunner if I know there's no one there and if he does, I assume his role while on the ground. Flag caps, I go back to pilot and say "Hop in!" he has about 3 seconds to make a decision of getting in or staying there. I always thought things like this were common sense. As one poster said tho, some ppl may not be aware that only the driver gets counted while capping post 1.03. Same thing goes for tank gunners, only more so. Tank gunners need to know when to hop out and run around the building to kill that pesky AT, or when to cover blind spots. A good duo can be a force to be reckoned with in this game.

I agree what attack helo pilots shouldn't be doing much flag capping, but there are certain reasons for doing it, usually early in a map. My best example is for USMC on FueShe Pass (64 player). When I get the helo, I go straight for the first base with the helo pad (allowing my team to spawn there and defend my repair pad). Then I go straight after the Chineese helos.

If my gunny gets out to help cap, we can almost reach the west side of the map and kill a china helo before they have a single flag capped.
