anyways the problem is probobly you are pulling too much electricity from one outlet... not enough juice to power all 3 rigs fully so all you get is the little stuff... lol either ur house is gonna be ghetto and have extension cords all over the place or ur just gonna have 3 alienware rigs scattered about your house... in the kitchen "ooo i think ill play some bf2 while i make breakfast... in the bathroom "oooo ill play bf2 while i take a crap"... its like a dream come true...

what gets me is that the AURORA ALX starts at $5779, which has 2gig of RAM - now how you got your model (AURORA ALX) that you shown (with 1gig of ram) for 4000 or so dollars bewilders me.

I bought 3 because I have 2 brothers who want the same model so we can all game at the same time, we own 3 BF2s and 3 warcraft IIIs as well.

So technically I didn't spend 12000, we each spent 4000, but its all the same

Yea guys its 4 gigs of ram not 1

I'm sending them back and they are charging me to ship and they are charging me a 15% restocking fee, so in total i'm spending 2000 $ for jackshit.

And not one of them works. I got them delivered yesterday and set them up last night and not one of them boot up properly. The aliens on the front just light up and the fans start going but the CD drive reads as busy and nothing happens. No boot up sound, no monitor output, nothing.

I called alienware and they wont do shitall to help me, even though i just forked over 12 grand.

Anyone else had this problem? I've never been more pissed off in my life, they want to charge me to send the motherfuckers back, and I haven't even used them yet. I paid for them to test them before they sent them, and I also bought "on-site" service, which apparently has so many loopholes that there's actually no possible way for you to get someone to come to your house.

So yea, don't do business with alienware.

Your ass has got to be gaping by now.

I hope they at least agreed to cross-ship the new computers.

Demand a refund - don't ask, DEMAND it and demand that they collect them at their cost - trust me, assert your consumer rights strongly enough and they will capitulate.

Then, seriously, listen to what almost everyone has said in this thread - build your own, or get a friend to do it - you will get that kind of spec machine for much less if you do some shopping around for the parts. And it really isn't difficult.

Why are you guys being such D1CKS for.

He didnt ask to be criticized for buying them. Hes trying to get input on what to do. Stop being ego-tastic bastards and help the guy out.

When you bash him it sounds like youre just jealous you have to build your own PC to save money.   Obviously he has more money than you, so that just makes you look stupider all together.

You say all three do the same thing?  Are you using seperate monitors for each or test each with the same monitor?

Do you have different monitors to try?

You said youre knowledge isnt too high, but you can open them up and just make sure everything is firmly pressed into place, specifically the video card.

I'm not criticising.

And I don't suggest building your own purely from a financial point of view (though, I do agree with those that say all you're really paying for with Alienware is the funky logo) - building your own PC also provides one with the practical experience and knowledge of what goes into a PC - it also gives one the ability to know which components to upgrade in the future and what upgrade paths are available to you.

Any boxed PC, be it an Alienware, Dell or whatever should work out of the box with no problems and very little required knowledge. To get three that just don't work is apalling and Alienware customer support should be doing everything they can to get him three working PCs - that is supposed to be what you pay for when you buy a boxed PC - not the logo, but the build and support quality - so that is why I suggest he demands a full refund and looks to spending his money elsewhere.

I bought an Alienware and mine works just fine.

They should still be under warranty, just send them back for new ones.

Alienware has got it's share of problems now. Just read through their own forums. I have 2 of them and I will never buy from them again. Last time I talked to their support I spent 2 hours telling them what I should do. One guy actually asked me "How do you know so much about computers".. I said from talking to dipshit techies.
It's funny becuase they are so untrained you can hear them flipping through pages as you tell them your computers problems.. They have no real knowledge.

if you're gunna take that kind of assfucking from alienware. You have a year warrenty and callout as part of your package. get them to get their asses out to you. If not, call trading standarda (as someone earlier wrote) and if not, take them to court. You have a contract with them.
You're a fucking sucker if you accept that shit from them.

jesus, if your gonna spend 12k on 3 computers, just freakin make one on your own. 12k would make the ultimate computer, you wouldnt even need 5k to make the ultimate computer.

3 is a charm.
