weird problem on spawn screen

just started having a strange problem with bf2.The game loads fine,account sign in ok,all mutltiplayer and other options work fine.But,when ever i load a map for either single/multiplayer it gets to the spawn screen then is sticks there.i can still see movement going on in the actual game and even hear the voice comms.But the mouse cursor wont move and i cant choose a class or spawn.i can still see the mouse pointer but it s kinda greyed out.
Anyone else had this problem?i scanned for virus/adware,reinstalled game and patch,reinstalled video drivers but no problems...any help would be fantastic

was it on zatar wetlands. i allways have problems with commanding and spawning on zatar

Just in case you didn't know, there's a bug in the zetar map. You have to click about a half inch to left of the spawn point to actually get the spawn point selected. Before I figured this one out, I kept thinking my screen was frozen or something because I could not select any spawn points.

i hate that. especially when im trying to spawn on my SL and hes moving to and fro. some of these bugs seem quite important, and should have been fixed. *cough cough 'red tag' cough*

OK. I had this problem on sunday. After the latest punkbuster update.

I ended up uninstalling BF2. Removing all traces on bf2 on the machine. That is the directory.. The registry,

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2]

and

some bits in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Reinstalled, Patched and its now ok.

The only annoying thing now I get the tutorial when playing until I done everything. Best of luck

try deleting then retrieving your account on the log in screen, worked for me with same prob..

I had this problem several days ago, I had hardware problems with my PC and had to make some violents reset ingame. After several of these I had your problem : One or more files needed by the game seemed to be corrupted.
I tried to reinstall the game : same problem
I tried to reinstall the 1.03 patch : same problem
I tried to reinstall DirectX : same problem

Finally I solved this by... reinstalling windows.

Sorry man but I didn't found another solution. Hopefully for me this PC is only a game station so the reinstall was fast, I hope you won't loose too much time...

not looking forward to reinstall of windows..anyone else had same problem?i was wondering if it was g/card related,but other games work(altho they dont use such a hefty game engine as bf2)as i seem to be having weird corrupt squares popping up when i boot up.Isnt that a sign of your g/card on its way out?

i've had a slightly variant of the glitch or i'm reading this wrong...

what happens is everything's going on as normal except when i go to choose a kit/spawn point it's not there!
and disconnecting and reconnecting to a server doesn't help either.

it's weird...
