You already have it installed. Look under your Start > Programs > EA > Battlefield2.

You can either run a dedicated server and enable battlefield, or you can use console commands on a LAN or single player game to record clips. Look for the BR page in wiki, has some more stuff on that.
You can it is all native in the server software but you will need 1.5 meg upload per person logging on from out side for it to run smooth if you run it in LAN with everyone together it should run smooth. I have 7 MB down and 768 up and my unranked server can handle 4 players before it gets glitchy with out BR. Now if you want to run battle recorder then you need to make sure that you have a machine to handle the load. I will severely hinder you performance. I would recommend a dual processor with 1.5 gigs of ram or more and a decent video card running at 800x600 res or smaller why this help is beyond me but it does improve performance without changing anything on the clients machine.
Easier way to get battlerecorder on your own server
Start a LAN server, or single player
Type in ... in the console (press ` to acces the console, left of 1 on my keyboard)
demo.recorddemo name (replace name with anything)
when your done what you want type
demo.stoprecording
If you dont stop the recording it wont save the battlerecorder file..
Then, you need to go to the demo files program files, and then copy the DEMO file to your "my documents" file, which is the same file that screenshots are saved on. Save it in the demo file, and then you can play it in the community tab..
