I've heard this thing is expected to come out around mid october, released at $200-250 which probably means 250 at release.  Anybody know what range of performance we're talking about, is it worth waiting for if I've got roughly $300 set aside to spend on a gpu?  Are we talking between x1900xt 256mb and 512 or probably worse than both?

Also, if I buy a mobo before the card has been out for awhile, is there a chance it won't work on the board w/out a bios update?  I've heard bad things about updating bios and I'm kinda hoping to get around it if possible.

I'm bumping for the heck of it.

FYI, I've heard rumors of this card also being released in AGP form for those of you delaying the inevitable.

I'm thinking Nvidia will be releasing their dx10 cards mid november. If it doesnt get pushed back.

It is going to replace the X1900GT. So I would guess it will be closer to the $200 mark. The performance won't be much worse than the X1900XT (256).

Release date is projected at Oct 17th...we'll see if they hit it or not.

PS: No you will not need a bios update.

Tell me when there's a big AGP release when there isn't an external power connector anymore, which there probably never so until then 9600 it is, lol.

Looks like it's performance is just shy of the 256 x1900xt.  If it does release around $250 it should be a good buy.
