video games and education dont always go hand in hand.

ask youself this question: do you think a 19 year old will study for a math class or play battlefield 2 from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed at night?  95% of them will flunk 3 or 4 times just to play a stupid $50 trash of a game.  trust me.

you people stop playing video games all night long and get yourself a good job. stop decorating your computer tables with mountain dew, doughnuts, coffee, and high sugar items just because you want to be in wake island for 6 hrs getting your ass handed to you by some moron who you never met before.

go back to school and get a degree so you can stop asking mommie for money so you can run to EB games and buy your piss ass videogames and earn good money for yourself so you can have something better in life.

its sad for me to see 15 year old noobs asking momie for $300 so they can buy the whole videogame store when they can read a book on how to make a computer, or read about whats going on around the world.

Why the fuck are you signed up on a BF2 forum? It's like signing up on a Satanist website to preach about Catholocism.

The guy obviously is a dunce.

I can see where he is going, but with some control and responsibility you can get good grades, last year when i was a freshman i pulled an amazing 2.3 GPA, now im getting almost all A's and B's (while still playing alot of BF2) I have just planned my day better and found a good aproach on how to handle things.

man u must be demented or something.  your analogy of me signing up on a satinist website to preach about catholocism is severely flawed....

its it wrong for me to tell others not to spend soo much time on video games. if you spend your life in front of a tube....man i feel sorry for you..

BTW ...i have a college degree in biology, working on a masters now... try that shit on for size.

I remember educational games back in the 80's and 90's. Number Munchers, Oregon Trail, Carmen Sandiego (oh God, the theme song still haunts me), and so on. Games are even used for opening Driver's Ed, on occasion. Concerned teachers should go home and make some tin-foil hats before returning to their duties. Granted, they can be overused, but in moderation they can attract attention and drive a point home that otherwise may take weeks. I believe it is due in part to such interactivity making more use of the brain. For an example, I learned how to FOIL on an animated math program, and it's never left me (though everyone else struggled for days to get it).

specialistx2324: You have it wrong, I believe you are seriously flawed. Having a degree or trying to get your masters makes you no better than anyone else.... in fact just about anyone can attain those if they spend enough time and have enough money to do so. Is that what you asked your parents for instead of video game money? Or did you earn the tuition and money for school all by yourself?

You also mention somewhere about being a 19 year old making a choice between school and a game, and you finishes off with trust me. Almost sounds like you were making an example with yourself making the bad choice between the two and suffering. Kids are kids and thats how you learn... from your mistakes. So if they want to decorate their desks with mountain dew or 7-UP... who the hell are you to say other wise? Besides do you really care that much? Probably not so drop another moot point. They will learn eventually that all play and no work will get them no where.

As for getting a 'real' job.... hahaha. First off, may I ask what you do with your biology degree. I'll give you 3 examples of my own, none of which who are under 28 yrs old playing battlefield.

1) My uncle is mid 40's, very high up in Hewlett Packard. Guess that isn't a real job, making hands over fist in cash and playing battlefield... hmmm what went wrong there?
2) My dad is early 50's, high up in his profession as a laser operator. Also making good coin and playing battlefield.... something musta went wrong there to huh?
3) Myself, 28 yrs old. Been in the military for 7 yrs. Making great coin, travelling lots and wouldnt ya know... playing battlefield. Guess I did something wrong to huh.

Before you open your mouth and start lecturing people, try taking a look at yourself first. We dont live the same lives so dont tell people what they SHOULD be doing.

Is nobody else going to comment on the fact that this "survey" was carried out by EA?

What else do you think the worlds most powerful game marketer is going to say?

Yea, most every other study ever done on this subject reports just the opposite ... sort of like the one study that came out saying "Salt does not cause high blood pressure" was sponsored by the Salt Industry.
