Dude it's not even that... I've been killed by snipers and knew it.  When I get killed by one of the guys with skills I usually mutter to myself about what a good shot it was, or that I need to be more careful about where I am (stupid, stupid stupid).  I agree, I haven't seen too many snipers using the aimbot, in game numbers would be really bad if they did!

The problem is when I am playing support (you know the guy with all the armor) and I turn the corner and open fire with my PKM on an assault guy and he kills me with one shot.  After I have just spawned and have max health!  That's BS man.

I play on that server every day and I have never seen somebody being that good to accuse him being a hacker. Just get over it that some people are skilled in IO or more skilled than you. [No offense]

First of all: Yes, aimbots exist for BF2. I seriously doubt that they are anywhere NEAR the sophisication of accounting for ping, shot deviation etc. etc.

However, I can often find myself in a position where I know for a FACT (having been on the other side of the hill/rock/house/obstacle) that I cannot be seen approching my target, and yet, the SECOND I sneak to a tree or whatever, I get shot (at). While this has NOTHING to do with skill, it is also not an "aimbot" pr se. It's a nice little hack you can buy, that colors the enemy so you can see him through obstacles, one color if he's behind an obstacle, and another when he's in plain view. It sucks to be on the reciving end, because you CANNOT sneak up on someone using this type of cheat. And NO, it's not because of the UAV people know where you are.
This type of "hack" is VERY common unfortunately. And it sucks, but at least you CAN fight back, because the guy using it may have the advantage of knowing where you are, but most good players dont use hacks (or so I would like to believe), so frequently, I can storm out and shoot the guy before he has a chance to pick me off, because in reality he's using the hack, because he sucks at basic stuff like aiming.

"nofog" is also a very popular hack. That one is however, fairly easy to detect when people are using. If you have the highest quality settings, and you KNOW the direction your being shot from, and a UAV reveals that the shooter is WELL beyond visual range with a sniper rifle, he is cheating. Fortunately, again he doesn't HIT any better with this cheat.

Actual aimbots... Yeah, they exist, I have no idea how rare they are, 'coz it's DAMNED hard to tell the diff between a good player and someone using an aimbot. Having seen at least ONE player running (well, he was jumping actually) around getting 3-4 kills on a single pistol clip, I know they exist.
Getting owned sux, getting owned by someone who cheats sux BIGTIME. Unfortunately there ARE good players out there who WILL own your ass once in a while. Fortunately, most of them dont cheat (I hope).

wish someone would accuse ME of using an aim bot...  dam... im not that good or anything.. but SOMETIMES.. i in that zone or something where i pick off 6 or 7 in a row with headshots and/or one shot kills ue to their health... but nooooo...

ALTHOUGH... my second day of playing this game.. sniping of course... i got a lucky streak where i killed 6 or 7 in a row.. not really one shot kills or anything... and someone started a vote kick!! YAY!

I was getting smoked by snipers I couldn't even see.  Until I turned up my viewing distance to 100%.  It helped a lot.  Even if you aren't a sniper you can still about see the bastads if you know what you are looking for. I did m95 my friend out of a heli that was turning and hauling ass -last night.  It was a 1 in a million shot. When I tapped the mouse the gun was aimed thirty feet in front of the heli.  Maybe sniping has gotten easier, but I doubt it.

No offence but that's often not true. I do know exactly how you feel... and there ARE working aimbots out there, there's no doubt any longer... but in some situations it is impossible to tell for sure.

Multiple times, from the same guy, where each time you're going "Hmmmm..." IMO that's the minimum requirement for being legitimately suspicious.

I agree with you about the incidence of "THE most amazing god damn head shots i've ever seen in my life" getting higher but the ones that really have me suspicious are when it's not from a sniper rifle, at ranges where only the sniper rifles are truly accurate.

No, that's a headshot

You must know that the client-side reporting of shots and hits from other players sucks, so although it sounds like a single shot kills you (in the past for me it wasn't uncommon to actually hear none of the hits) it may be the first shot of a short burst or just one shot of a short burst.

Armour is irrelevant when it comes to the head, don't forget that. And almost all of the assault rifles can kill with a single shot to the head because of the damage multiplier, PKM too.

It might not have been one shot; there could have been multiple people spawncamping. The sniper(s) could have been scoped in, aiming at one of the spawn spots and you might have had other classes of enemy soldier infiltrated in your base. You spawn, two or three people actually open up on you and it only takes one shot from one of the medic/spec ops/assault/support closer to you and then a single sniper-rifle bullet to the torso (not an amazing shot at all) and you're looking up at the sky.

i wish they made an aimbot for helos.  cuz i fucking blow at flying choppers.

Well, from what i've seen so far, is people telling me i need to learn how to snipe and then maybe i'll understand 'how it happens'.  As it turns out...i have over 100 hours sniping, and have expert, and i'm well acquainted with sniping.  While i am not so bold as to assume i know all of the ends and outs of sniping, i am very confident that i do know the limitations of sniping.  Someone mentioned earlier about how they've never had a problem on the Battleforce server, and normally, i don't either, which is why i chose to bring this up this time because it was so out of the ordinary the way the snipers were unusually on.  Then someone else brought up the VERY good point about the coloring program that shows locations through walls and hills and the like.  I've seen the video of the guy on Wake Island using the program and i'm surprised i forgot about that.  Someone else also mentioned what i hinted at...the IO is improving everyone's sniping abilities, and that, i have no doubts too.  I guess it all falls into one of those you had to be there to see it type moments.  Thanks you guys for your input though and i definitely appreciate the critique, good and bad.

I got headshot from an svd while falling in a parachute... I know the guy doesnt cheat, some people just get lucky shots.

aimbots do work for choppers...  just choppers missiles aim very strangely, so you will miss a LOT...  and i wouldn't suggest doing it anyway as it shows that you are a pathetic loser

What you gotta watch out for are the multihackers, alone aimbots aren't that dangerous as they'll only lock onto visible targets and aren't very accurate, aiming for your barely exposed head instead of your body

aimbots are running on useless for snipers in BF2, becuase in bf2 weapons are not hitscan weapons, and in the case of sniper rifle your aimbot will always aim for the head, and it can't lead, or compensate for lag or anything, especially at the extreme ranges nofog hacks can allow you shots at.  if you're stationary an aimbot sniper is deadly.  i've only seen a few cham/wallhacks, and i don't think i've seen any aimots, as there i've never run into anyone who consistantly headshots me

i've also come to watch for railing, i used to play halo 2 a lot so i've come to recognize aimbots, and no one in bf2 really looks aimbotty

You know Ive been questioning alot of shots lately myself, so I have been trying different methods to see if the player really could be aimbotting. If Im getting shot at from god knows where everytime by the same person Ill hide in a place that cannot be shot at, then if the person continues to hit the area, Ill know hes probably aimbotting.

we call this spawn camping, not aimbotting. but thats ok. sometimes we all get confused.
