- Why do they say the PKM is so inaccurate?
True true... I have dropped even assault helos. and what comes accuracy of PKM, it depends how much you use it IMO. It is like that with every weapon. If you get used shooting with other weapon and you can deal good effective damage with it, then stick with it.Lawk wrote:
I find its most useful against smoking transport vehicles or sometimes even Blackhawks.
After I got first unlock, I took instantly PKM and have been using it since.
I more respect for support weapons when I unlocked the PKM. Sure, it may not be the most accurate weapon but damn it can dish out damage. A couple of PKM's can make a base raping helo reconsider it's decision and cause it to flee or even bring it down.
My best PKM moment was playing MEC on Karkand. The hotel flag was being grenade spammed from that little alley way and the spawn points were getting hammered. I spawned and managed to live thru nade spams and worked my way around to the entrance that has the pallets sitting there. Sure enough a couple of medics and a few assualts were nading everything that came around that corner or spawned. There were all looking the other way (towards the spawn) and I went prone and opened up on them. 7 kills faster than I could count. It was great. No more medics and only a couple of assault left. I couldn't kill the other guys quick enough and I got a 203 in the face. But, taking out an ENTIRE squad in 2 seconds was worth it.
PKM is devastating in alley ways, choke points or near corners. Obliterates anyone who comes around a corner. Better than a 203 spammer in those instances.
It sounds awesome too!! THUD THUD THUD!! Just hearing you f*cking someone or something up will make anyone else turn around and go back.

I had it for a while (unlocked it with the patch) but never used it much until lately, I working on my Vet Support badge and I must admit I'm starting to like that big bulky gun and my friends start to hate the big bulky gun lolll
Very good to get people on gun turret...

I just unlocked the PKM, and I like it so far. I typically dont use support much, as you can see by me having only like 100 kills with LMG's. When I first started playing as support as MEC on Karkand, I had rounds of 29-16 and 27-18 without even touching a vehicle, with the RPK-74. With the PKM I havent been able to get close to those numbers yet, because I'm still getting used to it. However, its easy to tell that its much more powerful than any other LMG.

I had problems when I first started using PKM as well. I'm not sure why, but it takes some getting used to compared to the default LMGs. After I initially unlocked it, I was like WTF, this ain't better than the SAW! After a little practice, though, I like it a lot better. I think you have to adapt to it a bit to really appreciate it.Dr.Battlefield wrote:
Yeap I agree and I'm not saying that accuracy doest affect your shooting at all, but it doesnt rly matter (my LMG acc 16.53%). What I'm saying is its much harder to hit a moving target at medium range if this target is moving across the field. And again its just me. Probably I dont completely understand PKM. For me sometimes it hits rly nice, but other times when you think ok now I will kill this guy easely you miss and die... So RPK/SAW is more powerful for me. + oh I never try to get a headshot with RPK. I aim at the chest so deviation will make my aim higher and I 50% will get a headshot, otherway I just keep shooting and adjust my aim. But you r right it works fine with PKM because 1st bullet from PKM hits directly at the point of your aim. Its nice to see that more ppl use LMGs now.atlvolunteer wrote:
Before unlockin the PKM, I always fared better with the RPK-74 than with the SAW or Type98. After unlocking the PKM, I seemed to do better with it than the SAW as well. I need to go back and compare the RPK-74 with the PKM...
And accuracy is important. It doesn't matter how many bullets you spit out if none of them hit and the enemy has time to take a bead on you. In case you hadn't noticed, its easier to get headshot when prone.
Hmmm... I'll have to try that.Snakestyles wrote:
You just need to work on your PKM play, i use it when PLA or MEC and it can do serious damage, have made many attack chopers turn tail and flee for repairs with the PKM. Although i prefer the SAW, it just feels less bulky more resposive and the ROF on the SAW is a thing to behold.
Listen while we are on the subject of support how many of you do the grenade spam thing?. If you dont know what im talking about, join a map like Sharqui peninsular (if thats how you spell it). Try to only play with grenades, there is a way of timing how and were you drop your ammo packs that lets you basiclly rain down grenades. Believe me when you work out how to do it without killing teamies or yourself its a awsome way of stopping thoes pesky medic squads. Rember that when u get a kill chances are a medic will be heading to revive the corpse, so keep spamming grenades into the area were you got the kill and watch the kills come in.Also a great way of clearing flag points that are getting capped buy an enemy squad.
You guys should try the mec RPK-74, i like it so much more than the PKM, its faster, and i think it does pretty good damage... I LOVE MEC!!! all of there starting weapons rock except for the SVD Dragunov. I h8 that SVD.
I guess so. But.... for some reason I'm always in a middle of the meat. Dont know why , just cant hardly wait. So every second is important for me and I noticed that PKM need a little more time to open fire than RPK. Well I'll try it anyway. Anyway I'll practice as specops for a while to improve accuracy + going to learn how to land more headshots.atlvolunteer wrote:

Love that gun.. My favorite.. One round i got 30 kills and only 4 deaths.. Thx to PKM.
In my earlier days I never played the Support class...Ever.
Then I unlocked the PKM and started to try that sucker out.
It has become one of my favorite weapons!
I'm currently working to my Vet Support and Vet Resupply badge .
PKM sure is pwnage when used right.
