The last few days ive been having a rather strange problem, i can launch BF2 and get into a server fine, play a few rounds, and then at the end of the map when the next one begins to load, my computer turns off. Its as if someone had just pulled the power cable. Anyone else experience similar problems?

nope. my PC runs fine with BF2.

I will move this thread to BF2:Help, as it has nothing to do with the site.

Possible power supply problem. What have you got, have you recently upgraded and did you upgrade your supply ?

I run on a 500W and it's just fine

oops, nearly forgot, bf2 needs almost, I say almost as others will differ, 100% cpu... that's gotta make some heat

OMG! i get this problem 2! sucks        i dont think it has anything to do with ram or overheating, when playing offline it never happens, just when you try to connect to a server online

hmmmmmmmm i have the exact same gfx card......   GeForce 6200 512MB/DDR, was a waste of money for me though, still cant run bf2 on high settings, have to have them on low to get good frame rates, i think i need a faster processor......    back to the topic, maby its something to do with the settings in that kind of card.....   (just a gues, i dont know alot)

Not related to this game but I used to have the same problem with other games, when I was running a onboard sound card.  My computer would just randomly reboot for me, It had to do with the sound card returning a error that windows could not handle and the machine would shut down.  If you have a onboard sound card, look into replacing it and then disabling it in the bios.  It helped me with another game, and has never happened in bf2.

Green-Lynx,

You need to go look at the system requirments again for Both Battlefield 2 and SF's. It's NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater. So the 6200 will work.

System Requirements
OS: Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
Installed: Battlefield 2 for Windows
CPU: 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
RAM: 512 MB or more
Disc Drive: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
Hard Drive: 1.1 GB (plus 3 GB or more free space on Windows partition)
Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible; Video card must be AGP or PCI express, have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater; ATI Radeon 8500; ATI Radeon 9500 or greater
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible
