I wouldn't say any good flight simulators can help your flying skills for BF2. The physics in flying in BF2 is completely basic compared to flight simulators.

Planes.  You fly planes.  Unless you're trying to farm wheat or something.

I recommend flying in single player.  BF2 isn't the best flight sim, so 99% of what you learn in other games won't transfer over to BF2.  I use keyboard and mouse.

Wake eh?

Tip 1. Never Fly a F-35B, unless your team has Airfield

Tip 2. Use the Views F9-F12 to see what is around around

Tip 3. Go for steep dive bombs, and dont fly too low to the ground - Palm trees = J-10s worst enemy

Tip 4. Try practicing flying a LAN, not single player, cause Single player you can only fly the bombers.

Ya.. just practice.... thats how everyone learns..

I actually recommend learning by using the bombers.  They're a bit harder to control and everything...nothing is as precise.  So when you switch to the fighters, it makes it that much easier.

just learn on bf2

-use a keyboard and mouse to start learning, then switch over to joystick if u must  (key+mouse ftw!)

-learn in a low populated server of wake, probably in the j10 - so u get more chance to get in the jet and stay alive longer at first

-fly in the view mode of cockpit without the jet showing (hitting c once when u get in jet)
-when a jet is on tail, flying in backwards view to dodge missiles and know when to hit flares.

-practise is the main key for bombing and dogfighting. as you get better, u will be using the MGs a lot more.

-MG choppers, dont missile them. lead bullets in.

-dont do anything stupid, survival is a priority to killing enemies. (ie flying so low u hit trees etc when bombing or doing a strafing run. (this caused lots of deaths in my noob flying days.)

- dont use the Hud to bomb, just learn by practicing, and knowing when to release bombs by experience, as the best pilots do.

-bomb with one bomb at a time, to save trips around to airfield, and u will get more accurate and hit the target with the first bomb. (either use both bombs on first run and then only get one off the runway when resupllying, or just hit "f" (or switch modes) after u drop first bomb, so u can release them seperatly on the first run.

-jets will lose control from 750-900 (or so, depends on jet) altitude, so keep under here, only going real high to dodge enemy jets. if u go too high, cut the throttle and start up again when jet falls to about 550 altitude.

-when in f35 and enemy has jets in sky, fly at 500+ altitude, do ur attack or bomb run etc, then return to that height.

hope u learnd stuff, Drax.

its much better to learn on servers with people, but only on the less populated ones. This way you get the hang of flying around, and actually have moving targets to practice against.

i played wake so much i know the waypoints of people =\

I use the f35 on wake quite successfully (with the airbase belonging to Chi). All you need to do when in the F35 is go up high (to about 400m), and dive, gun & bomb the heli/jet spawns, reach altitude of 300-400 m again, rinse and repeat. The reason you fly high is to avoid being seen by enemy jets. If one's on your back, whip out your best evasive maneuvers of you're toast. Checking your 6 frequently is key to success.

If you can do this, you can keep all the heli/j10 pilots on the ground & greatly help your team. Not to mention the nice score you'll rack up by doing this

All true except that you should use the F-35b on LAN to learn. Its the easiest plane to control and responds the best.

Works well until someone goes "enemy Jet Spotted" when you come in for a bombing..

If a J-10s on your six, you mine as well bail out over a base and cap it, because there is not escaping the Almighty J-10..

Just practice in an empty server. I fly upside-down, over land, through the trees, as close to the ground as possible on wake and pretend i'm driving a really fast upside-down jeep when nobody is around.

NOOO way!!!  Only good pilots who are great at other jets can be good in the F35B, if you fly the F35B, then swap to another jet, it seems like easy mode...

The F35 is a good jet, you just need to know how to use it, here are a few tips i have picked up on:

Primely Bomb at 500+ alt and just dive at stuff
If your dog fighting use lots of barrel rolls u roll the fastest and make sure you are cutting your throttle on turns.  I have never had a J-10 shoot me down when i do a hard  cut throttle turn they just fly past me.
Never Ever ever ever ever use missiles on a J-10, i have had 6 missile all go past a j-10 flying straight BS i know.
MGs at the engine will down u a j-10.

I may do up an F35 guide soon.

Check my Stats i don't fly the j-10 to often and i have a decent Aviator score + I'm a wake whore.

Joystick is the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro with Force Feedback

Don't one bomb it, learn to place the 2 bombs in the same spot...

When you release the bombs, you can hear the 1st one, gap, then 2nd one. In that gap, you slightly place the nose of the plane down. This makes the second bomb land in about the same spot as the first one.

This is great for taking out tanks and apcs on the first strike.

Just practice in a LAN server. You need to get a feel for the different aircraft if you want to become good.
