Ok its this, i switched to AVG free edition from F-secure. After that, my computer booted real fast, and when i mean fast i really mean it. Eg, i see the welcome screen to windows, The icons at the btm right just came up instantly. For shutting down or restart, the icons just go zoom, and then it proceeds to do its task. Is there a catch here?
I have no idea at all what language you just spoke????
whats the problem here?
By '????,' do you mean that you have no idea at all if you have no idea at all what language he spoke, or was it just a punctuation misprint?klassekock wrote:

AVG >> F-secure. I use it, and it never caused me any problems at all. In fact I think it's great. maybe f-secure is just crap?Ayumiz wrote:

Well, is there a catch of instantly bootingup/ shutting down? Just before i switched to AVG free edition, it booted up at the same speed as any com..
F-Secure is great, if you like your PC being secure. If you like your CPU to have any power left over for doing other things, it's not so great.
AVG rules. Your PC boots so much faster because AVG doesnt have all the extra background processes running. Programs such as Norton, or Macaffee, add about 7 processes to your system, AVG adds I think 2.
i use McAfee and that rocks for me
When i clicked restart com its liek ZOMG, instantly it restarts.{BMF}*Frank_The_Tank wrote:

AVG is awful! Not the best AV to use when you realise how much it misses.
Plenty of AVs load tons of crap with windows and try to look over your shoulder with everything that happens - most can be turned off if you know where- just because youve configured AVG not to hog your system doesnt mean its good at its job.
Here read about it for yourself, its given a standard rating by AV comparitives (independent testing)

click on 'online results' and look down till you see the May 2006 test and also the August test ..... they are both testing different things btw
