and a vote comes up ingame, is my vote counted as a yes or a no......or does the 'number required' figure that comes up already exclude the people that opted out?

It comes up as a no, I believe.  I may be mistaken though.

no, the votes needed are calculated out of people on the server

however, even if you opt out of voting, you can still push page up/ down and it will register, it just doesnt show the vote message

@TMo    i think all those blank squares in the TAB menu are people who opt out

If it doesn't show u, how do u know to vote?

Anyway i think the server just counts u as a null vote, but not sure. The only vote message it will show is if the vote is against u.

If you don't vote at all, or if you opt out of voting it's the same as voting "No".  Anytime there is a kick vote, or mutiny, etc. it takes x number of yes votes for that action to go into effect.  Voting no has no effect other than to show that you have registered a vote.  Opting out or just ignoring the vote has the same effect as a "NO" vote.

really, because one time there was a vote going on, and i had opted out.  I pressed page up when i was dead, and it didnt do anything, but the nxt time i pressed it it said "roger that"  i guess may have been a bug, but i always thought you could vote even if you opt out

i guess i was wrong tho

If your opted out of voting it won't show u the vote message, maybe u saw a commander request or teamkill message.

If you opt out of coting, LESS votes are needed.

Ie a mutiny vote requires (yes) votes from everyone on the team. However, if you have 20 people on your team you will notice that sometimes it says "8 of 16 votes for mutiny". This is because 4 people have opted out of voting.

You CANNOT vote (though you can for some reason INITIATE a vote) when you opt out, you have no voice in the votes whatsoever.

Pressing page up is the default key for roger that and affirmitive.  Likewise, pressing page down is the default key for negative and negatory.  So no matter if you are voting or not, if you press those keys, you will get the respective answer depending on what key you pressed.

Wow - what a mixed bunch of opinions, thanks for the replies everyone.

Yes it makes sense to guess that the opt out people are not included in the vote numbers, BUT that relies on assuming that the vote is set at 100% of the team, and thats something I dont know either.

If the vote ratio was set at 90% then we would not be able to calculate the required from just the opt outs and we wouldnt know it - see what I mean?

So I guess the question might be known to someone that has mod/code experience, are votes 100% of the team, minus the optouts?
