Lets put it this way... my Comp Science lecturer from Nottingham in the top 10 unis in England, has told us that companies like google, ebay etc use hard drive systems with that much memory, i also dont need you to tell me how powers work. I dont need some smart ass little kid tell me about computers when im doing a degree on the subject.

It is 10^15 times larger than a gigabyte, now you may not know but as large as that it that isnt large, and if you think it is you might want to go read up on some physics and maths. I know everyday people that have about 200 terabytes of data, now try comparing the amount of data they store to how much more ebay and google need to store, they will have a minimum of 6 copies of all the changes that happen each day and then 1 other copy of their entire database.

Lets see... first you talk like your 12.  Second im glad your teacher has to tell you what to think and say... Third I Thought you were daying you could BUY a yottabyte system from google or ebay.  I also like how you enjoy constantly saying you are getting a degree in computer science.  Congrats want a cookie?  It doesnt matter until you actually have that degree.  Fourthly, im a computer engineer major, i just dont go around thinkin im better than everyone else because thats my major, like you do.  And im 21 btw.

no, a yottabyte is not 10^15 times bigger than a gigabyte.  I have no idea where you got that number either.  maybe your professor told you.

No everday person has 200 terabytes.  There is nothing that the everday person would need 200 terabytes for.  I just did some math... and i think thats some 52 million songs (approx 4 megs each) an 20 gig ipod will hold what? 5120 by my calculations.

I talk like im 12? so whats up with your typos and writing then because its definatly as bad if not worse than mine. Im not at school we dont have teachers we have lecturers people that have been doing research and have huge numbers of qualifications on the subject, he doesnt tell us what to say, they pass their knowledge on. How do you buy something from google? please explain. I said it 2x to clarify that i atleast know something on the subject, grats you got a major, probably the equivilent of 1 year at an English Uni, based on the fact that your maths is so bad you cant work out that a yottabyte IS 10^15 times larger than a gigabyte. Do some maths and then when you come back with the answer that shows im right ill let you kiss my boots.

1073741824 bytes in a gigabyte
1208925819614629174706176 bytes in a yottabyte

As you can see it has 15 more numbers on the end, and rounding it that comes to 10^15 times larger! The fact that you can confuse your binary system with a deca system leads me to believe you have no major at all.

At no point did i say he has used all the memory, although he has used 10,000 gigs making a terabyte system worth getting as he already has 10 of them. Its called films/music/games/programs infact anything he wants because he isnt limited to harddrive space.

Both of those sums are also completely wrong and only simplified by people who dont study or are employed in the IT sector, there is a huge difference with 12000000000000000000000000 and 1208925819614629174706176.

imagine..playing Prey, BF2, FEAR, etc. on high graphics on 1 yottabye of RAM and you still have tons of memory to spare..

And then imagine the camping.
