My thoughts...

I got my basic commander badge on IO only at Warlord last night.

I kept the UAV up, coordinated squads to flags, and found the one lone sappers (through scans) trying to blow up our assets.  Granted, it was NO FUN at all and I won't be doing it again anytime soon, I did recognize the value of having commander in an IO server.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

Uhh, because you're supposed to communicate to your team and let everybody know where everybody else is. Besides, you still get a ton of points from doing nothing either way. If you really want, since nobody commands on IO servers, you could just become commander, hide in a corner, and go do whatever you want, build up points and commander time without doing anything.

I don't care what anybody says, I still think more skill is involved in regular play. Especially if you're still a ground pounder like myself.

I can't seem to master flying choppers or jets, so I still earn my points the long, hard way.  And I agree with you, playing on infantry only servers is much, much easier than playing on regular servers.  No tanks, jeeps, choppers, jets, APCs or artillery to blow you up.  I tried a few IO servers.  I scored WAY higher than normal, and had WAY less deaths.

I love it! No one ever commands so I get too! I can get my command time up + double point bonus WHEN we win
