once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
+ quite a lot of games companies do this now. That's because the game goes gold about a motnh before it's released, and they find problems with it in that time.
Ooh, la de da, this was posted in a completely separate forum.
And as for other companies, not many have released a patch before it even came out. I can only think of one other game (the game itself escapes me at the moment) that released a patch before it came out.
And yes, I'm well aware that it went gold many weeks ago, and thus this fix couldn't have made it into the final release. It still doesn't explain how a client-side crash made it past the so-called extensive testing they keep claiming to do with each of their products.
