Did you know that if you scope a mossberg 500, you can easily headshot an enemy standing 200 meters away?
And that pistols have magical properties allowing them to never run out of ammo?
Rainbow Six Vegas Two taught me valuable things like those.
On a serious note, that game was well made, and very fun.

This thread needs pictures.
The old Desert Eagle Mark XIX in .50AE.
Here's a picture of the slide and barrel removed from the frame. The mechanism is actually quite simple. It's basically an AR15 cycling mechanism shrunk down to operate on a pistol frame. Combustion gas flows through a port in the barrel, pushing on the small piston at the front of the slide. The rearward motion of the slide unlocks the rotating bolt from the breech allowing the spent cartridge to eject and a fresh round to chamber. You can also see the dual recoil springs.
Here's a picture illustrating just how large the .50 Action Express cartridge is. Left to right: .22LR, 9X19mm, .45acp, .50AE.
I enjoy letting other people shoot it almost as much as shooting it, myself. it's very heavy and very accurate. And very expensive to shoot at about $1.75 per boom. It's definitely the least sensible gun I own.

A) Don't hand a powerful gun to a weedy girl.
B) Always feed a round in from a magazine, don't drop it in loose like that.

Gotta love people who give new shooters the most powerful firearm they have, just to see if they smack themselves in the face. /sarcasm
(A-holes)
It's no wonder so many people are afraid of recoil.

i like being able to shoot 38's through my Blackhawk. i do run magnums through it, and break it down and clean it every time i shoot it. it kicks like a mule, but more than that it leaves a lot in the barrel.RAIMIUS wrote:

Yeah seriously, what a dick move. Recip, is the recoil really as bad as it looks, or is she just really, really weak?RAIMIUS wrote:

I'm gonna go with really, really weak. The gun weighs a ton and the springs absorb a lot of the recoil. While I've never personally shot one, most of the people I've talked to that have compare the recoil to that of a 1911.ghettoperson wrote:

I'd love that colt... but I'd never get it into the country, with or without permits...

My buddy has one--gold plated and thoroughly ridiculous! I've fired it a few times, and the recoil isn't bad at all. I remember thinking it would be a bit much on the wrist, but it really is quite manageable.mcgid1 wrote:

Weak wrists, also she's holding it 'wrong' for that kind of gun - you lock your wrists and relax your elbows, she has her elbows locked.mcgid1 wrote:

No, it's not too bad. The recoil is definitely more stout than any .45. You just need a good firm, two handed grip to really keep it under control. There's a fair amount of snap from the .50AE. Empty shells eject straight up, so sometimes you'll get a hot shell between the eyes if you let the recoil get the better of you. 9mm and .45 pistols feel like toys after setting off a few rounds from the DE. The large caliber revolvers in .500S&W and the like are not nearly as comfortable to shoot, and not as fun. I like my hand cannons in semiautomatic form.ghettoperson wrote:

I certainly wouldn't hand a DE to an inexperienced shooter. And when I do let someone shoot it, the first round is always a loner. I don't need someone double-tapping and taking their own head off.
