Well I'm 99% my .32 barrel is pitted and not leaded.
Its never happened to any gun I've owned, in the last 20 years, not in the UK where its a lot wetter.

A guy in the club who was a dealer and has a lot of contacts reckons that during the Obama ammo crisis companies were sourcing primers from all over the place and rebadging them, some corrosive primers crept into the system.

So be warned, clean your gun thoroughly every time.

Otherwise it could have been corroded when I bought it, it was a safe queen, been unused for ~20-30 years and back then the original russian ammo was corrosive, maybe I just didn't spot it.

Interestingly it shoots perfectly, 1/2" groups at 25m which is stunning for a pistol. The last inch of barrel is OK and I guess that does it.

Still, time to get a blank, a lathe and a mill.... wanted them anyway

Target shooting with my 7mm mag gives me a bruised shoulder.
