I've managed to unlock the left side of the support tree, and the sentry gun rocks!  I'm now wondering which tree to unlock next, left sniper or left engi, so I have a couple of questions:

1:  How useful are the enhanced scope and stabilizer?

2: How good is the anti-tank rifle?

Anti-tank rifle = win.
Scope = decent. Think BF2 scopes, with another zoom level.
Stabilizer = pfft.

I am deciding the same thing. I used the Pilum in the beta (then the Koenig), and I loved it, but I am going to get the sniper rifle first cause I want to experience new things.

I'll probably go with the sniper tree, mostly because the left side engi unlocks, other than the rifle, look pretty crap:
1: Mine defuser, yeah whatever, plus many people have said it sucks.
2: Vehicle ID thing - could be useful I guess.
3: gadget that scans for nearby vehicles - as if the stomping/whirring/clunking/booming/etc doesn't give that fact away.

If anyone has actually used those gadgets and likes them, feel free to correct my impressions.

@3, the PDS-1 is really good, never underestimate it.

Btw: I got the Baur tree and love it.

What does it actually do?  None of the info I've seen goes beyond the vague info you get in game browsing the unlock trees.

you can place it down, either on a static object or a vehicle, then it acts like a UAV but only spots vehicles. It has a pretty nice radius too.
