Well for some time ago my cousin got confirmated(I hope this is the right word)and was very happy about his new laptop from HP. Well I know, that his parents are retards when it is about knowing how good a computer really is. I know that they paid about 10.000 DKK which is about 1.500$, so I expected it to be fairly good.
I do not precisely remember the specs, but I will try.

40GB hard disk

Processor: 1.8 GHZ AMD Sempron.

512 MB of ram.

Graphics card I really do not remember, but I know, that I have never heard of it before.

Well yesterday I was hope at my grandmother and he was there playing a game which was Call of duty.
This is a pretty old game, but still cool. Well the first thing I saw was lag, lag and lag. It was terrible.
So in my opinion he got so much screwed.

i have a laptop from dell (or more precisly it's my dad's), it have ca. the same hard disk space as his, maybe a few gb's more.
dunno the processor
and 1 gb ram

all i can say: i can run bf2 well

most laptops are not meant for gaming anyway, i do on mine, but that's because I wanted a desktop replacement, so i got a 3.4 ghz dual core proc, 1 gig of ram (soon to be 2), nv 6800 graphics/17-inch screen, and a soundblaster EAX pci card, only has a 20 gig HD, but that's because I keep most of my goodies not requiring fast access times on an external hd, and i can usually run bf2 at 1400x....something, can't remember, at moderate detail, and most other games at full res (1680xsomething), dunno about the price though, i swung a deal through alienware so it cost me about 2100 after the rebates, so maybe they just didn't look hard enough, or trusted some tech store geek that earns commission.

Rofl! I've tried playing with my touchpad before...it's a pretty sweet time. I paid $1,350 for my laptop and I got a 100 GB harddrive and a gig of ram, so yeah your cousin got screwed. Who knows though, maybe his computer is super awesome at word processing?
