Not surprised, bf1942 is still alive, what makes people think BF2's just gonna give up.

Well i've just checked now an theres 60 thousand people playin battlefield 2 compared to just 18 thousand playin 2142!

i like bf2 better than bf2142 that's for sure,bf2142 the gameplay is pretty dark and shaky
WIth all the patches fixing/nerfing BF2 (insert tears where necissary) BF2 has finally found a DECENT balance. 2142 is brutile to play. I don't hate 2142, its gonna take some getting used to... but the walkers, titans, large battlefields, lame unlocks, and a diminished infantry combat makes it alot different than BF2, and those lacked aspects of 2142 make me prefer ol number 2. Plus, there is no BF2142s.com.
Like said, the play is shaky and blind at times. not my bag, baby. I don't see 2 fading anytime soon.

The thing I'm amazed about is HALF LIFE ORIGINAL STILL HAS HALF A MILLION PLAYERS!!! It was released twice as long ago as BF 1942, the same year as the original Starcraft (Good times...), and before the pentium 4! I think all developers should have a goal to make such a long-lasting game.

Im sure BF2 is at least as good as 2142, since 2142 is just a reskin. So by the time everyone that rushed into buying it finds that out, there will be peace in the galaxy once more.

Oh no it's dead trust me, I uninstalled bf2, destroyed the dvd, smashed the computer it was on to bits, tored up the office it was in, burned down the house of the OffICE! I Plow3d thRougH my nEIHborh00D wIth BullDozer ...

When 2142 population spikes in a week or two it'll probably be a tad higher than BF2 but then I guarantee it'll slowly start to taper quickly as people get bored/frustrated with the inferior dumbed down gameplay mechanics in 2142. Once people have tested all the unlocks and realize it's nothing to get excited about they'll quickly lose interest in the game. Not that I care either way because the only BF2 server I play is pretty much full 24/7 but I would like to see the general gamer population punish DICE for creating a game so lacking in skill, gameplay balance and chocked full of adware/spyware.
