I score 5980 with my system.

AMD 939 Athlon64 FX-53 @ 2.67Ghz
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
2x EVGA 7800GT COs
2x 1Gb Corsair Value Select DDR PC3200 Ram @ 400Mhz
2x Maxtor 7200RPM 160Gb 16Mb IDE HDDs
2x LiteOn DVD-CDRW Drives
Thermaltake Armour with 25cm side fan.
520W Enermax SLI Certified PSU
Tochiba 3.5" floppy drive
Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Music

7664 is a pretty decent score, but your ram isn't the max speed for your board. Shoulda got PC6400 @ 800Mhz.

Well you run the benchmarking program and it gives you a score based on your FPS through a standard set of rendered scenes.

http://www.futuremark.com/

You can get the trial version free. It should give you a score, but not much more.

Yea I did some reading and 7664 is low for that card, especially with that processor. 3DMark favors the dual cores. Im guessing its the ram. And the GX2 has GDDR3 not DDR memory.

And the thing about the HDDs is that even raptors in RAID0 won't help because once you have 2Gb of memory its just gunna load everything into there. So basically its load times, but has no other factor with the test or game. I woulda spent the cash on the PC6400 ram.

580megs to test this!? seems a bit too much for a simple test then uninstall.

It's really cool. I use it to test my OC stability.

the only 2 components in there that are impressive are the video card and processor, I've had 2 gigs DDR2 5400 since December 30th 2004, you really should have at at least 800 MHz, if not 1066, and then overclocked, you could easily push a score of 9000 if you did some overclocking

but that seems about right...my system is like mashed potatoes to that...but i manage a meager 4126...my processor is the main bottleneck (P4 @3.4)

I wouldnt complain about your score. Its really quite good for that benchmark. Especially with the shaders it uses. The CPU tests are Intense. Feel bad for the people with a ATI9xxx series card with a AMD XP series processor or a Intel P4. Or a Nvidia FX card LOL. Scores below 1000 or just barely.

The new Intels are beasts. They will smoke anything AMD has and anything AMD will have even around the end of 2008. Thats how long its going to take them to even release anything that MIGHT try to keep up with the new Intels. Hate to say it(because i Like AMD also, Useing one now) But AMD had dropped the ball. AMD is releasing a Revamped 90nm series of Duel cores next month(thats there answer) and these processors wont even make a dent in the intels hold on the performance edge. AMD is having a problem with there 65nm fabs. Worst part is, By the time AMD(in late 2008) releases a decent 65nm chip) Imtel will have already released Quad core 16mb L2 chips made on a 45nm process. So AMD is lucky they bought ATI, because i think thats the only thing thats going to save them. Only reason we have A64 and the only reason they run the way they do, is because IBM bailed AMD out with the Hammers and helped AMD onto the right track with there chips silicon. But this time around, AMD has noone to bail them out.
